What a relief that the original richmond nite market is back. I can't wait to join this year at their new location in N.W. I went to the Target Event office (the real richmond night market) in Rmd and I was shown the new floor plan. The entire area is huge and looks awesome! Can't believe the retail booth is only $60 a nite, so so........ reasonable! I can tell it's gonna be great this year but not like the copy cat "summer nite mkt" that I joined last year, it's crab! Hey, my "Inner Circle" group, join in and I think I will have my booth near the new "Arts & Craft" section.

haha I truely believe Amy is trying to make people book the booth in that night market instead of other one. At least this year we should have two night markets.

其實都係NIGHT MARKET姐...我覺得去邊度都冇乜所謂..
反正度度賣既野都係差唔多...
不過最緊要都係要夠就腳... N.W. 咁遠, 俾我就唔會特登去睇埋D係RICHMOND都見到既野啦.

Target event, please learn from the Olympics...
Select a location where people can use public transit like Canada Line and then we can go.
If no Canada line, no one will go to DT and join Olympics fun...haha

BTW, why it is called Richmond Night Market when it is located at NW.
Call it the MK "Women Street" will be better..

Should change the f'ken name. It's even not in Richmond for crying out loud.

There are only one bus(410) and one shuttle (C99) to the area and also starlight's own shuttle
C99 do not operate in the weekend nights and 410 is 30min a bus.. and good luck for that 400m+ walk to westbound and 600m+ Walk to the eastbound bus stop.

Whoever lives close by (Specially 嘉嘉)will be pissed off every weekend . Since there are only a limited parking space in the casino. the neighborhood will be full of cars and poor drivers.

AMY2010.. Are you the Amiee I knew who used to help out target event as a sales?

They should not learn from the Olympics. There is no space DT for the night market. If there is, it is going to be expensive. In Richmond, you are required you to walk or to take a shuttle bus to the Olympic Oval.

Peter, what i mean is...People can go to Vancouver DT for Olympics fun as we do have easy to access transit to get there. This is why DT was packed like your canned food.....

Seems no easy transit to get there and I don't want to drive and park ... not easy to get there = no people = no fun....LOL

I am not targeting the event organizer, I wanna support night market as it is a good thing for people to hang around at summer... but..... WTF this time have another night market in a desert area.

If they are willing to offer free shuttle bus or even free shuttle bus to get there, then it will be another story.

I think they are trying to target different markets, not just the Chinese community. Hence it was moved to NW. I think it is a smart choice, as all of us said that Night market is not exciting anymore.

I would say they are targeting more than just the Chinese people. NW has a better mix of ethnics

Seem "Richmond Night Market" is a trademark or something.
So, Richmond is just a "Brand Name". They can setup a night market in Calgary and still call it Richmond Night Market.

But for us living in Richmond, it will create a problem. If my wife asked me to meet at Richmond Night Market, there are chances that I will go to the wrong one....LOL

N.W. is kinda far to me. I am not sure if I wanna drive that far just to check out the night market. Plus, it is the first year they are at that location....hmmm....will it be fun?

I live in Vancouver East.

Driving to Richmond and to New West is equally far to me.
Back then when China town had the only night market, I am sure there was people from Richmond who drove all the way to China town to enjoy the night market.

It might be worth the trade off since it makes it easier for those in Coquitlam, New West, Burnaby, Surrey and Delta to go to the night market.

I heard that the richmond night market moved to starlight casino this year. and they are sharing the parking lot with the casino...
And so far they still have the early bird promotion....starting at $60 per night...

Free or Paid?

I doubt that the casino will offer more shuttle and make it free for people who is going to the "Richmond" night market only.

More than 60 people attended Tuesday night’s Queensborough Residents Association where plans for the Richmond Night Market were discussed.
Residents are most concerned with market traffic and parking and the association formed a community advisory group to look more into the issues.

•Tuesday, April 13: The applicant will conduct an Open House on the proposal at Queensborough Community Centre (920 Ewen Ave.) from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
•Tuesday, April 13: Written feedback submitted by this date will be included in the Council package circulated in advance.
•Monday, April 19: At 7:00pm, members of the public and any interested parties may present feedback directly to Council at the “Delegations/Opportunity to be Heard” segment of a Special Regular Council meeting. Written feedback can be submitted up to the time of the meeting.
•Monday, April 19: Council decision on the applications.

That area in the New West does seem far. It's in the middle of nowhere. No restaurant, no bubble tea. Isn't close to anything.

I like it back then when it was at lansdowne. I can just drop by and have a walk any time.

I think I'd only go once or twice if I have to purposely drive there.
