Not a fan of the exterior here -- the lines are too swoopy for my likings, but the interior is beautifully done.

Good tim la.. nicer looking then both Accord and Camry ..

Resale isn't as bad as used to be, while Honda and Toyota resell isn't as good as used to be ..

So, "cost to own" should be close to Honda/Toyota.

I will take this over Camry, but hard call if compare with Accord.

Passat CC is actually a very sweet car, I think it looks nicer then A4/3 series/C class/TL/G37 etc .. very nice inside too. (and big inside) It is German built, so not as much problem as other VW .. quite good ga! ^_^ (of course, much more then Hyundai)

Passat gives you spaces but w/o the quailty. The material they use on a passat cannot compare with A4 / 3 series.

Jetta can really compare with this korean car. Or just because you think jetta is a little smaller so its not comparable?? i would only consider the $$$ and what you need the most. I don't care if its used/bigger/smaller.

but fyi, the based sonata gl starts at $22,649.00 new, while the used 1ers, based models, will probably be $31,xxx.00 plus. as for the demo 1ers, they usually start from $40,000 or just slightly under $40k before tax and freight and pdi.

not really there are 128i / 232i at $32000-$38000 depands on how much the car is loaded they always have it just have to wait and see, if you wanna spend less get a jetta/golf is also good

It is certainly possible to cross shop between two adjacently sized vehicles in a similar price range, but when most people cross shop for a car, they base it on the practical and functional aspects of the vehicle. If somebody is considering the Sonata, which is a midsize family car, do you really think they're gonna look at the 1-series, with it 2-door + non-existent back seats? Gimme a break la.

And, if you are as smart as you are attempting to portrait yourself, why would you even consider buying dealer demo cars?

Performance wise, the Sonata won't beat Camry or Accrod V6 (0-60 in 6s) until it comes up with a turbo 4 cyl.  BTW, Camry and Accord V6 are as fast as Mazdaspeed3???  Oh boy...

Chinese cars are improving rapidly and will equal or surpass Japan cars quality.

I like it, the interior has done extremely well.

Some people still think Korean made cars are still low quality and cheap, but they have improved a lot these years. I still think that many Hyundai's are made in Korea.

Hyundai's service department pricing is reasonable, so there is really no incentive to take it somewhere else.

When you grow up and have a family, try convincing your wife to allow you to buy a dinky 1-series when you need to fit a child seat in the back. And btw, have you ever tried sitting in the back of a 1-series? I have. And lemme tell you, I wouldn't even want to sit there for anything more than 5 min. Or maybe you aren't even 5'5", or perhaps you don't have legs like a normal person because there is no headroom, and no legroom in the back seats of a 1-series.

Dealer demos are not necessarily bad cars. But more often than not, the discount compared to a new vehicle might only be a few thousand dollars. But do you have any idea how people test drive demo cars? I dunno about you, but I've seen how plenty of people thoroughly abuse those demo vehicles, and I will freely admit that I am guilty of doing the same thing as well. Given the abuse that these demo cars have seen, I'd rather not save those two or three grand on a $30k car, and just stick to something that is brand new.

Good luck to your friend and his M3 cabriolet. I wouldn't even want to think how the car has been thrashed about during it life as a demo. I'm sure all those red line excursions before the engine reaches full operating temperatures is gonna prolong the engine life. And in case you didn't notice, it's Brian Jessel, not "Brain Jessel. I'm fairly certain this Brian Jessel fella has a brain, but I'm less certain whether our friendly forum member has one given the level of intelligence his posts have shown~

At least my wife respects and agrees to my decisions but maybe not in your case. We don't have kids but i'm sure even if i do my baby will fit perfectly in the back seats of a Carrera. But I will tell you this -- having an expensive car really doesn't mean shxt. First, do you have the skill to really drive that car? Driving is so much more than mashing the gas pedal while going in a straight line, and that applies even if you were drag racing! I've butchered Carreras, Boxsters, Corvettes, Mustangs, STIs, Evos, M3's (and the list goes on), but I have also been slaughtered by 20 year old Civics, plain jane automatic Corollas (ya, that was really embarrassing), Crapiliers, etc. At the end of the day, the car you drive often doesn't mean shxt if it were in driven by someone that has no idea what real driving means. Driver skill is what matters. The car is just a tool.

Lik wasn't talking about street racing when he said slaughtered.

There are LEGAL racing in greater vancouver and around area.

It's hard to train driving skill just by doing everyday driving on the road. so yes the "training ground" would be a "parking lot"/airport lot as most driving training (e.g. RCMP driving training) takes place.

Back to 80's & 90's Honda and Toyota offered many good cars for low price, so they gained market share and image, now, they have good market share, and many people buy them anyway, so they want profit, and the can sell their cars for more.

Now in Canada, Hyundai sales has surpassed Honda. If Honda is not careful, Hyundai will extend the lead over Honda. What will Honda do to stop the erosion of their market share?

Yeah .. seeing more and more Hyundai lately ...

And the link about only indicated Hyundai outsells Honda in MAY ALONE.

Anyway, if 200,000 car sold, with $1,000 profit per car, vs 100,000 car sold, but $3,000 profit per car .. later one still make more money.

At least, most new Hyundai looks nicer then Honda or Toyota ...
