What should we buy before HST? We need a strategy here, so that we can save the most.

The price of merchandises is not going up with HST,
only services, memberships etc.
I think the tuition for non-credit courses too i.e. Yoga.
Not much I need to buy.
But the gas price was like $1.18 yesterday, god know
how much it  costs  to fill up the tank after the carbon tax kicks in

If you have lots of $$$, you can buy a new $300,000+ house/condo...you get a rebate of $20,000 max which is equivalent to 7% of the PST portion of the HST

Don't buy anything other than what you really need and those that used to be PST exempted... like vitamins?

current embedded pst 2% = building materials
how about hst on building materials after jul 1?

If you are buying children/kid's size clothing and shoes then they will only charge you 5%, but if the item is in adult size then it's will be the full 12% even if it's for children

CLOTHING, FOOTWEAR AND ACCESSORIES
Adult Clothing and Footwear  5%  7%  No (remains 12%)
Children Sized Clothing and Footwear  5%  No PST  No (remains 5%)
Adult Sized Clothing for Children  5%  No PST  Yes (changes to 12%)
Children’s Cloth Diapers  5%  No PST  No (remains 5%)
Children’s Disposable Diapers  5%  7%  Yes (drops to 5%)
