VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The latest opinion poll shows voters don't think too highly of Gordon Campbell.  An Angus Reid survey finds support for the Premier is sitting at a lowly nine per cent.  That's down three per cent since last month.

The firm's Mario Canseco tells the Vancouver Sun he can't remember a more unpopular premier.  He puts part of the blame on the introduction and implementation of the Harmonized Sales Tax.

Seventy-two per cent of British Columbians say they'll vote against the tax when it goes to a referendum next September.  Meanwhile those who were surveyed say they were angered over the HST, but voters weren't necessarily eager to vote for NDP leader Carole James.  Her approval rating sits at 27 per cent.

James says her leadership is on solid ground despite leaked documents, firings and political resignations.  She denies a secret NDP plan to join recall campaigns against Liberal MLAs over the HST.

Documents leaked from a party meeting quote NDP president Moe Sihota urging members to take secret recall action.  James says the party won't join the recall campaign and she won't stop New Democrats from supporting it individually.

She insists her caucus is united, downplaying the resignation of Revelstoke-area MLA Norm Macdonald as caucus chair over James' decision to fire Quesnel's Bob Simpson for his criticism of her.

Campbell has gotten too comfy after 3 terms in the office and turned into a tyrant, and yet Carol James and her NDP are utterly useless.

What to do...? What to do...?

I totally agree Campbell and his gang made a fool of themselves in this HST fiasco. If they lose the next election, they will only have themselves to blame.

But as an ordinary people, I  really do not feel much different BEFORE or AFTER HST. I still buy things as usual, eat out as usual and pay tips(10%) as usual.  And I am not entitled to the $230 HST rebate either.

I still do not know why people make such a big fuss out of it: Just try to turn back the inevitable.

coz ppl have too much time in Vancouver and they don't know how to use that time to make more money

so instead they try to blame on higher taxes
作者: Look4chrisng    時間: 2010-10-17 07:06

We are talking completely difference things here.

1. HST.  We all for taxing like Florida. No State tax.  Since most people don't make their money here and very worthy people collect benefits while living in million dollars home and drive a benz, and those earned a paycheck here have taxed to dead already.

2. The lies in bringing HST to BC.  To me, a vote for them is approval for their lies.

I guess, if you don't like NDP, than vote for Green, or Independent.

I haven't feel that HST affects my life much, the only
different so far is the tax on hair cut and dining out;
I only go to barber shop 4 times a year, and the tax on
meal is minimal compared to tip.
I think the HST will stay, and would go higher in NDP's hand.
Then we will be in hot water.

Your vote will surely allow the NDP to come back and screw us again, because it takes a majority to rule in BC! And what can a few independents or Green party do? Build more bicycle lanes or increase transit/property tax?

I would like to thank you on behalf of Carole James, Moe Sahota and the big unions for not voting for the Liberals!

You need a crook and you get a crook! Behold the next premier of BC if NDP wins!

Mr Moe Sihota is the current president of NDP. He was the first Indian elected in Canada government. When NDP was in power, he was forced to resign from cabinet several times due to scandal. Leaked NDP reports said he is now calling for secret involvement of NDP in the recall movement.

the 2 lib crooks in BC rail corruption case got 2yr less than 1 day in "house arrest".
Good thing is Legal fees pick up by taxpayers.
lib works for the big businesses.  NDP works for Unions.

If you are not in these 2 groups, you are nobody.  In BC, you are always picking lesser of 2 evils.  Please don't pretend you are better off with either one of them.

If one is less evil than the other, how is that not 'better off' than the other?

At least big business will give back a little bit when they had enough and is too full for more.

Unions, won't let a cent slip through the crack.

It's kind of like capitalism vs socialism. As Winston Chuchill puts it once, Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings, while Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. You might not get the blessing with the Libs, but you definately get the miseries with NDP.

I love this saying.

Under true capitalism, everybody has a chance to succeed, no matter how slim it is.  But there are too many suckers and losers in our generation.  So they prefer to drag down everybody with them.

Where is the capitalism you are talking about?  AIG? Bear Stearn?  Yes, when they make a profit, it is capitalism.  But there is always a need to socialize the loss.

Big biz will give back a little?  Income for Vancouver Family stay pretty much the same if you don't count housing cost.
Union people do contribute to the local econ.  At least they spend money on beer at Yaletown and hookers on Kingsways.  Big biz always will have offshore tax shelters, you can ask Paul Martin for good advice.

Greed within Unions and wall street types are the same.  They both produces nothing. Wall street types are more lovable cos they have expansive private jets and Armani suits.

No, an NDP regime will make  forming union a breeze.
Back in the 90's, the unions would go to company with over
5 employees to do the promotion. And the government would
back up the unions in every way, eventually they had to issue
Back-To-Work bill that cost them deary.

Which country are you talking about? AIG? Bear Stearn? We are talking about BC...

It's obvious that the Lib's is not the best ran capitalistic government, there's tons of room for improvement.

But when it comes to a badly ran capitalistc government and any socialistic gov't, i'll choose the capitalism. Any attempt to oppose natural selection, which is what capitalism is grounded on, have failed everytime in history.

When it comes to socialist NDP that is destined for failure, almost anything else is better.
作者: Look4chrisng    時間: 2010-10-19 21:07

BC is the same, it just run in a small scale.

Your capitalistic gov doesn't exist anywhere.  Is BC or Canada a "Capitalistic gov" where more than half of your money goes to taxes?  Have you been to Sweden, Norway are they capitalism? Are these badly run countries?

Don't understand your "oppose natural selection" means?  Is it in form of genocide?

You will let a theft off the hook if he only steals your wallet because other theft would have stoled your wallet and raped you as well.  And you become very fond of the first theft.

Lets face it, in a democracy, it is always the majority rule. South Asian will always vote for South Asian, Chinese is always too busy/smart to vote. union will always vote for NDP. Majority of BC people are pissed with the HST and fanned by Van Z, want to recall the Lib MLA.

NDP victory is imminent: The result is already written on the wall. It is just a matter if we want to hasten the inevitable by recalling the MLAs.

I do not have money to retire and have to work everyday. I am just worry If big companies see no future with BC under union rule and choose to move/cut staff, then many will suffer.
