Be the first to Comment  1 Recommendation(s) VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Greenpeace, The Wilderness Committee and No Tanks are rallying Sunday to protest oil tanker traffic in BC waters.  The groups will be at Second Beach in Vancouver at noon, asking the federal government to ban tanker traffic.

Melian Laboucan-Massimo with Greenpeace says a proposed pipeline from the tar sands in Alberta will push crude to BC shores.  "I think that there's already a growing resistance to this kind of destruction and development for tar sands infrastructure because people don't see it as something that's necessary."

Demonstrations will also be held in Toronto and Edmonton.

Can't avoid. It creates quite a fortune to the government.
