I believe many of you here ship online purchases to Point Roberts.  Is TSB Shipping Plus reliable?  Usually how long the line up is at border on Saturday mornings?

I use TSB and they are no too bad....they had some problem with their email system lately and should be fixed by now.

Boarder line up usually 20 - 30 min on Saturday morning

I used Tsb for a few years, they are reliable!  Not sure about border line ups on Saturday, cuz i usually go during weekday, less traffic~

I use the Letter Carrier. Good service too! I go on weekdays and I have Nexus card. So I don't usually "line up". But on the way back, it's usually about 20 mins line up.

Well, I used to use TSB, but now I am using Hagens of Blaine. The custom in Pt. Roberts is the worst, but TSB is closer and it is reliable.

What's wrong with Pt Robert Custom ar? I go there all the time, is something wrong with the US Customs? or the Canadian Customs?

the letter carrier calls you when your package arrives; pretty good.

I have been using TSB for a long time and they are quite reliable in receiving your package but there were a few times they didn't email me the package arrival...

Looks like I shall switch to the letter carrier coz their weekend hours are better.

Is parking easy for these shipping places?  My parcel could be near 40lb so this might be a concern too.

40lb? It's nothing... I've ordered tires over years and I bought 6 tires back in one-shot (2 for my friend, 4 for me).

I have been using The Letter Carrier a bit, and they are raising their prices soon. So you can consider P2P or TSB again. Most of my stuff has tracking # so it is not that important to get notifications.

They have ample of parking down there.

About custom, I never have an issue. I bring my Nexus with me so going into PR is easy. Coming back is just joing the queue if I want to get a tax break.

Did they even question why you wait in the normal line while you have your Nexus card?  I keep thinking about that.

just show your passport when you come back (not Nexus), this way, they will never ask

Hagens of Blaine.. is it good?

Blaine is too far for me...

About Nexus... here's the deal:

According to the rule, if you have merchandise, you are suppose to fill the traveler's declaration card and drop it to the box. Ottawa will then charge taxes to your credit card. If you don't have the card, you have to line up.

Now, from what I heard (from custom officer) is that I can do a verbal declaration of goods I brought in through Nexus and the officer will determine if taxation is required. Can anyone confirm this?

Never heard of this...and I dare not to try...
If you come back at the right time...lineup to Canada is not an issue....
I usually go to Point Roberts to pickup stuff during my lunch hour.. usually about 20 mins line up back to Canada.

When I go to US for shopping....I usually come back after dinner....so by the time I arrived border it's already 10-ish... It's usually short lineup.... And Nexus is already closed too (truck crossing).

verbal declaration???  And if the officer says no, then you fill up the form right there???  it seems award for me.

So far we always use the Nexus lane if it is open.  Yes Nexus line close @ 7pm at track crossing and we take advantage on that once.

Going to US - is US customs
Coming back - is Canada customs.

so on Canada customs side, they don't have record.

I have always done it this way.

I see, thx qqmaro.  May try that if I could take some adv out of that.
