1 Comment(s) 6 Recommendation(s) VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The Downtown Eastside had its very own little lake for some time Monday night after a water main burst.
The broken main sent thousands of litres of water onto Main Street near Cordova and Alexander.
Jarrod is working on a movie shoot in the area and says all the water has caused the ground to soften. "The pavement has literally kind of done a dip. There is a lot of water down here!"
Norman called News1130 to say he was shocked by the amount of water flooding the streets. "I'm not kidding, it looks like a river delta."
Witnesses tell News1130 the soft ground also caused hydro poles to lean.
Buses and traffic had to be rerouted late Monday night and into Tuesday morning.
