When my friend went to renew his drivers license, the staff there asked him to take off his glasses before taking the photos. Why is that?

I'm not sure but I guess it's because with glasses it'll cover a part of your face so they want everything original? Just in case if anything glasses wouldn't be an argument if you guys know what I mean by that.... ^_^
