I am going back to HK next month for 3-4 weeks with my baby...by that time, bb will be 4.5 month old....i am thinking of buying an umbrella stroller, coz my friend told me that the stroller that we use in Vancouver is too large...inconvenient if bring it back to HK...however, umbrella stroller is good for 6 months old and up...is there any other suggestion? Or should i buy a small stroller in HK? Do you know how much would it be?

sometimes umbrella stroller is still too big in HK!  If you have to take a bus or MTR, there won't be a lot of space for you.  Bring a carrying strap too.  It's very handy.

That stroller in your link still looks a bit big...need to compare in person...

How about this one?  Combi is a good brand.

Strollers in HK is not cheap unless you go for some China or Korean model.

I went back to HK for 2 months with my son too. My son was in Hk from 4 months - 6 months,
I think you may consider the following
Will you always take MTR in HK? or by other transportation?
Will you go out with yor son to many outdoor?
If you always take MTR, your current stroller is perfectly fine.  HK has some big strollers too, like the ones here.
MTR has big enought space for the stroller here.  and consider right after you take off from the plane, have a stroller with you is very important, I didn't bring my stroller with me, but i carried my baby with a sling. I still felt very heavy and inconvient because i had to carry some other stuff as well. ( i lend a stroller from a friend in HK)  you can carry your stroller with u in the plane.  Air crew will help you store it during the flight.
If you go shopping and take bus alot, then stroller is not good. Sling is the best.
So I recommend you better take your current stroller, and also carry a sling. For umbrella stroller, it is not safe for infants.

i went back to hk for a month and a half..
we bought a stroller to HK just in case..but we only used it twice as it was too 麻煩 and heavy to lug around when not in use

if you really want to bring a stroller along, i would suggest to get an inexpensive, lightweight stroller..but definitely not umbrella as your baby's head control and neck muscles are not strong enough yet. the one i got was the avalon stroller (about $35) from zellers. It's inexpensive enough that if it gets lost or damaged in the flight it won't be such a problem. Please note that a lot of strollers get damaged on the plane because they throw it into the luggage area right before boarding. During the flight, the strollers are flung around and when you get them back, they are quite dirty and sometimes damaged by fallen luggage. I saw a couple of other parents using the same stroller as me..and it survived the flight quite well.

IMO, the stroller is only good to use in the airport when you are waiting for your plane..other than that, i would suggest you to use a sling or a baby carrier. we used a carrier for 99% of the time and it made travelling in HK so much easier. You can use the escalators and the stairs, rather than having to find an elevator. Although this will mean you have to carry your diaper bag around. We stuffed all of baby's stuff into a backpack..and carried baby in front and the backpack in the back.

Another benefit of carrying the baby around instead of a stroller is that it is safer. A lot of people smoke in HK and i was worried that if he was in a stroller, he will get all the fumes and all the cigarette dust/butts in his face. If you are carrying the baby, you can have the baby face inward and you won't have to worry about people's cigarettes and dust on the ground getting into baby's face.

Some umbrella/foldable strollers can allow the baby to lay flat on his/her back so there should be no worries about hurting the neck or anything.

Strollers fit perfectly in MTR???  Hm...I'm don't know where you've been but places that I go I can't even fit my own body comfortably inside...

Yes, fit, there are always a special big exit/entrance for strollers and wheel chairs for each station.
