公司大部份同事都係白人,coffee break 好鐘意去樓下starbucks,每日都唔見a few bucks...
其實我飲咖啡個胃會唔舒服,同埋唔想o徒錢,同事會主動問我飲唔飲o野買埋返o黎,我諗10次入面我都會有一兩次叫杯熱朱古力,當係做o下樣
最近o黎o左新助手,佢來自halifax,佢話halifax 無乜starbucks,佢飲慣tim,所以佢會行遠少少去tim
佢話tim o既咖啡都係$1.5-2,平得o黎又好飲...
我鐘意帶朱古力粉同綠茶返去沖,平之餘又唔洗凍冰冰落街...
我同新同事工作關係好鐘意將d o野變做一個月或者一年計...少數怕長計,每日幾蚊雞o既話,一年都飲唔少錢

其實飲starbucks 係咪上癮,點解d人唔去過好似唔安樂咁?

我又唔覺timmy o的咖啡平.......
佢一杯medium ($1.50 after tax??) 都仲細過一杯SBux o既tall ($1.96 after tax)
如果買large o既話其實又係同SBux差唔多價錢
timmy vs SBux咖啡o既話係口味問題啦，一般o黎講timmy o的咖啡淡少少，而SBux就窿o的
我個人就都係鍾意飲返SBux咖啡

SBux係會有少少上癮掛......但我都知小數怕長計，所以一日只係一杯，一係最平o既pike place，一係就americano，同埋唔會日日飲，加上日日飲o既話個口會好苦澀澀~~~ 朱古力一時時叫啦.......因為佢杯朱古力唔算特別好飲，但如果真係要飲我都會寧願貴少少揀佢over timmy，因為timmy太甜兼無得customize

飲咖啡就梗係會上癮啦，而且係生理兼心癮，唔飲嘅話會有 withdrawal symptoms （手震、頭痛、集中唔到、容易發老脾、心思思等等）㗎。

但至於係唔係會特別上 Starbucks 或者 Tim仔癮嘅話，我就答你唔到喇～

順帶一提我鍾意去SB o既另外一個原因係可以自己加糖加奶，有好多唔同o既cream/milk同糖選擇
我唔係太鍾意timmy o個種fastfood方式o既how many creams and sugars......
1個sugar唔夠，2個sugar又太甜

而且environment都係SB會舒服o的relax o的，我公司附近o個間o的staff大部份都好鬼醒目而且又friendly(因為係high traffic area.....個個趕住返工)

Starbucks啲customer service真係唔錯。不過普通飲杯coffee，我都係飲番office嗰啲，去starbucks都係飲啲special drink。

其實正式啲講，會令人上癮嘅係咖啡因，而唔係咖啡本身。

據我所知，飲多飲少然後突然停飲嘅話都會有 withdrawl symptoms，分別只不過係啲反應有幾嚴重而已。你個慣性 caffine intake 少，咁 withdrawl 嘅反應咪相對地細啲囉。亦可以話，你平時飲得好少，咁咪會無乜 withdrawl symptoms。

但身體對咖啡因嘅倚賴，係會越來越重嘅。

We go out for coffee almost every day too, unless there's too much stuff to do at work. I don't know why people think it's a lot of money but to me a $3 latte is a very cheap way to give yourself a little boost and reward for another few hours of work. Although I have a grinder and french press on my desk, I usually still go out.

Even for $3 a day, $3 * 30 * 12 is just about $1K. Pretty insignificant. I feel like ppl wouldn't hesitate to spend on big ticket items like a new HDTV or a brand name handbag, but always try to save a couple bucks a day.

my office already serves starbucks coffee so it's the same thing. but I think coffee break is more about relaxation rather than the coffee itself.

but I still don't prefer drinking everyday
like I said, I feel my mouth gets too bitter after like 3 days of drinking and I would stop for a day or two

depends on the area you are working at...
in yaletown, i can name a few places, i definitely would not go to starbucks.

i usually pull an espresso shot make my latte in the morning at home.

係阿，coffee run to me is to get some fresh air from work, 所以唔係話公司有野飲就satisfy 呢樣野。。。好似有D人要smoke break 0甘，我地唔smoke未 coffee break 囉。。ahahaha...

西人大多數都係0甘，自然到同我地每日都要食飯一樣，對佢地黎講根本唔存在錢既問題

I can grab a coffee anytime in the office, but not an official "break" time that I can go out and buy a cup of coffee of have a walk lor..

Starbucks is just selling a type of culture.
The Chinese need to expand their Chinese-style coffee chain stores, in order to counter Starbucks.

No, I was saying the bitterness comes to mine and I could "feel" that in my mouth if I drink coffees for more than 2 consecutive days....

去士他筆飲野係一種社交活動，一人一飲品在手吹水，好易識到friend。

另外，聽講士記店員有受過排解性騷擾 ...

that's why I stick with their coffees most of the time

latte, hot chocolate are like once-in-a-while drinks for me

I am totally anti-SB.
I usually make a "milk with coffee" from my moka at home (not sure if I can call it a cafe latte cos it's not from a espresso machine with crema) when I have 5 min extra before I go to work.

I like JJ bean drip coffee and Artigiano's Spanish latte..but Starbucks is everywhere so sometimes it's most convenient place to go

I started to drink coffee less and less because it is simply TOO EXPENSIVE to drink outside.

I have a Breville Expresso machine and making my own drink costs under $0.5 per cup. I will be getting a more semi-pro unit + conical burr grinder that costs about $600, so if I drink 5 times a week, the machine will breakeven in 24 weeks :-)

Of course, it takes about 1/2 hour to make my own drink caz I need to clean up the machines. If I don't have time, I just use my dripper or my french press.

If I make my own drink, it would only be about taste, not cost. As you said, it takes 10-15 mins to just make a drink. I think I can put that 15 mins to work and buy 5 cups of lattes with the money.

yes, there are better coffee places, but they are not as densely located as SBUX and compared to other chains at least SBUX maintains a certain standard.

seriously, 40 years of coffee would only cost you $40,000. (Let's forget about inflation for now). How much will you make in your whole life? Forget about inflation once again, maybe $2 million? 3 million? 5 million? Let's take a midpoint and say $3 million with no inflation adjustment. So what's $40,000 out of 3 million?

That's pre-tax amount...
But even 0.00005% of total income...or whatever percentage...sometimes it's a matter of worth to spend or not...it's not actually the amount itself.

Coffee is actually beneficial as it contains anti-oxidants.

Depends on the quantity. Also it contains caffine that is not as good to the body.

If you want anti-oxident it's better to drink tea.

I have a coffee cup from SBUX that keep liquid hot for six hours (air tight not open)
you should try it ... SBUX have it once a while

NEVER buy plastic mug....never hold hot temp as long as metal ones

your 16 oz cup should never charge with grenade price..

16 oz cup from SBUX only reach 16 OZ when you don't put the lid on ( at the riim)

I can never finish a venti size anyway and refill is free so it doesn't matter what size you use for refill

which model of Breville are you using?

I've been using the entry model Breville espresso machine for the last 3 years, finding that I want more pressure.

For the grinder, I use Breville conical burr, about $100, so far so good...

I am using the Breville Cafe Modena and am satisify with the result, the newer Cafe Roma is really the same thing just comes with some stainless cups, and a movable steam wand. I have a modified Cuisineart burr grinder just to do espresso. I agree that it does not have enough pressure to steam things fast enough (so milk gets diluted), however that is the limitation for any thermo-block based machine. Without getting too technical, thermo-block throws off wet-steam and a real boiler (pro/commercial) throws off dry steam.

I am looking at the Gaggia Baby, which is a reasonable semi-pro home model that has a real boiler. I am looking at that machine when I move to my new place. Breville has the higher die-cast espresso machine, I played around with it and it feels heavier and sturdier than the Roma, but I still prefer the Gaggia more.

To me, making a good cup of coffee is a art creation. I actually enjoy the whole process as it can be quite technical and fun to do. It is becoming a hobby now that I start looking around town for some good beans.

我淨飲SB普通咖啡,1.90因味道濃D如果自己加上SB 特別coffee cream,味道一流,其他special又貴味道一般。

嗯, 同office environ有關...我公司也都係白人, 但就鐘意tim多D...
我早先都係飲starbucks D 熱朱古力, 之後覺得tim D 咖啡便少少, 就同大家一起飲tim了!!
但我都鐘意starbucks可以自己customize~^^~
