Suspicious death in Abbotsford
Police don't think death is tied to gangs or drugs

0 ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) - A 23-year-old man has been found dead under suspicious circumstances in an Abbotsford basement suite.
A landlord discovered the body during a check of the suite on Beaver Street near Dolphin Crescent around 9:30 Saturday morning.
Constable Ian MacDonald with Abbotsford Police says at this point they're not calling it a murder. "We are going to gather evidence and see where it leads, if it ultimately leads to homicide then we go there. But at this stage we are just deeming this death to be suspicious."
MacDonald says the man is known to police. "Quite a few interactions with this individual over the years, with that said, he did not have a criminal record. It is for that reason, and looking back at many of those previous interactions, that we can say with a great degree of confidence that we do not believe that this would be gang or drug related."
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now leading the investigation.
