I am planning a trip back to HK and would also want to spend 3-4 days in tokyo

so far the prices I have found:
$1575 including all taxes and fees
and
$1700 also including 3 nights of hotel

does anyone know of any other good price?

It's expensive!! When are you going back? They have sales now wor~ I remember it's sth 648 + taxes (around 350 - 400) including 3 nite hotels..and ho chi add $100 to HK as well.. and which hotel comes with the package sin? With ur price I assume it is with Hyatt or Keio~

I called silkway to ask for the exact price
and since I am only by myself, it's almost $900 instead of $638
the lady on the phone told me tax and surcharge is $700
another $100 to stay in HK = $1700 ar~

now I am thinking maybe buy a package when I am back in HK
I checked some 自遊行 package, wing on is having some for $2400ish HKD and up (I don't know "and up" 即係仲要加幾多啦.......)

don't believe everything you read from ad., they always quote you the cheapest price, when you book , the price will go up !!!!!!!!
like the travel agent who always quote buy ticket to china and a side trip will be added for free.
when you book the ticket with the side trip , the price will not be the same, so how could they say it's free ??????????????

FREE Walk is nice too ..

Those Hotels with package are usually cruppy .. very small .. I don't mind it, you go Japan for shopping and food, and for luxury Hotel .. (or go China/Thai etc .. )

3-4 days is not enough la .. better spend a week ..

We usually take the package + 1 or 2 nights in cruppy hotel, then book other hotels....

errr..700 tax is CRAZY!! I went to japan few times using these air + hotel pkg.. and taxes usually around 350 only.. dun go to silkway la.. their agent sucks.. not experience at all...

2 yrs ago air to tokyo with 3 night 3 stars hotel was 898 + tax (around 350) with free stop in HK...

last year.. price increased 100..but still 989 + taxes (around 350) with free stop as well.. I booked that ticket in July..while the airlines start to charge 50 to 100 for a stop in HK...my agent waived the stop over charge for me.. and i also got 2 free limo bus tickets (worth 3000 yen each)! But i paid a bit extra coz i booked my hotel with Hyatt...so if you are choosing those Sunshine prince or washington hotel.. i think you should be able to get that 989 + taxes package..

what is the travel date that you are going sin? is it still within their promo period?

P.S. I dun think the hotels from pkg is that bad wor~ depends which hotel you book~ I can tell you that Keio sucks! I stayed in Hyatt Regency few yrs ago.. and they upgarded us to a bigger room for free.. we didn't even ask... and last year.. I originally booked my pkg hotel with Keio... and i booked 3 extra days thru Japan hotel website (coz the price is cheaper than the agent here)..when i email to Keio to confirm my hotel booking (3 night hotel pkg + 3 night online booking by myself)..Keio told me that the room from hotel pkg is lower class... and when i checked at keio website.. those rooms are shxt! look like old 3 stars hotel room.. so i go back to my agent and switch back to Hyatt as they have the same price!
We stayed 3 nites at Keio (from my online booking..coz if book Hyatt online.. needs 300 a night...lol) and 1 day at Hyatt (pkg hotel).. then we left our big luggages at hyatt.. and went to Nagoya and Osaka.. when we back to Hyatt for the remaining 2 nights. Hyatt suddenly provide us a free upgrade to their luxury club room! another free upgrade from the pkg hotel~!
The room we booked online with Keio is much better...but remember dun use the air + hotel pkg to book Keio....

I actually don't really mind about hotels
hostel would do too. As long as I can save some money and the place is nice and clean, that's all I need~

wah! going to japan 2 years ago was very cheap wor!!!
搞錯............how come now I am like 左度右度，度到頭都大!!!

which agent do you usually go to?

Currently I have booked leaving for HK on Oct 21 midnight and will be back on Nov 5
so the side trip to japan will be somewhere in between this period

Fuel and taxes in Dec is about CAD $600.00 for flight drop by NRT. Be prepare of it!

我上次都係返到香港先join永安嘅日本團，show HSBC 嘅credit card仲有＄50 off添。個tour唔錯啦，酒店都幾好。
之前住過kieo（shinjuku），同shinjuku prince比真係好好多啦。不過Prince近啲。

Delivery service ga ma .. 打的 is actually not bad .. expensive compare to HK, but not expensive at all compare to Canada ..

When I was young .. everytime I went Japan .. just pick a cheap hotel .. as I would go out from 8 to 1am ..

Then with GF .. (actually, not that fun to go with gf .. lol) need to stay in a bit better hotel ..

cuz I only have 2 weeks vacation
and has been 2.5 yrs since I see my friends and relatives in HK
so want to spend sometime with them too ma~
that's why only tokyo lor~~ my last time visiting japan was in gr4 la, haha

我跟個永安五天團，真係早機去晚機返，都係去啲大路嘅地方（disneyland，富士山，溫泉等等），但係就無乜時間shopping
。另外聽講東瀛遊去日本都好好嘅。

yeah, I just called Silkway again to double check on JAL
now found out the ticket price is only $1268 all together for staying in tokyo!

so I will stay at my friend's place
if not just look for hostel~~ still save a whole lot of money~~

The first time, we joined a 7 day tour. It was actually quite good as we had a chance to get familiar with majority of the attractions, had a variety of food. Only part I hated was time spent "involuntarily" shopping!
2nd time, we went "free walk". We stayed in Prince Shinjuku...thinking that it was close to Metro but it wasn't all that close. Maybe we were just too tired every night so walking back became a pain! I think Keio is closer and a better choice.
