VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A review by the province of potential money-laundering at B-C casinos finds the government should create a task force to investigate suspicious activities.
The review found areas where the BC Lottery Corporation can improve.
Rob Kroeker is chief of the government's civil forfeiture office and says the province needs to know more about the types and scale of any criminal activities at its casinos.
"The task force would investigate and gather intelligence on suspicious transactions and other activities related to gaming facilities.'
The government ordered a review of anti-money laundering measures at B-C casinos last January following reports of people making large cash transactions with small bills.
The review also recommends an electronic payout system and payouts by cheque to create an audit trail.
