VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - You're going to have to watch your speed at 35 new intersections across BC. The fine is $167 if you get caught going through one of the red lights installed with a new camera.
The province says around 250 accidents happen every day at intersections in BC and the cameras will reduce casualty crashes by six percent per year.
Intersections like Mary Hill Bypass at River Road in Port Coquitlam, Marine Drive at Capilano Road in North Vancouver, and East Broadway at Commercial Drive in Vancouver have been selected as locations.
Money from tickets will go towards policing and safety programs.
