作者: Ovaltine    時間: 2011-10-6 03:47     標題: Overseas Chinese People: What Can We Do?

In this particular forum, many have been speaking against the social injustice in China. The government has been capable and effective economically, but we are looking for something more, something that will satisfy the 200 years of hardship and pain we endured through the modernization of China. Most of us are stuck with imitating Western ideals, the equality, freedom and integrity. Others feel there is nothing wrong with China, the Communist government is the best we are going to get. Some hope for change. But How?

As Overseas Chinese, the Chinese government do not have jurisdiction over us, we can criticize all we want. Hell, we can start a revolution if we'd liked. But that will be ineffective, we want to promote change for the Chinese society, something our grandchildren will look back at us and marvel about. I hope through this thread, LYK can reach a consensus on what we can do together to change for a cause.

PS: I am kinda tired of debating about who is better, China or Japan or America, it is so time-wasting. Just want to do something productive for a change.

Change has 2 results - One, for sure, is improvement; On the other side, it's degradation.

Long time ago, I have reminded one friend of mine to have some changes. She thought there is no such reason to change as she thought/felt she's already "that" good (almost perfect in HER view). As time goes by, many friends left her including myself... Sad...

So, in general, when people talk about changes, it implies improvement.

Humans can get used to anything but they have the problem to be overly greedy. Once they think they can get anything they want, their insatiable appetite will keep growing without limit.
作者: Lik    時間: 2011-10-6 11:59

I am not a visionary nor a hero. As such, there is nothing game changing that I can do or even think of. The most important thing that I see is, Mainland Chinese and HK folks themselves need to see the failures of the CCP and SAR government and take action to change that. There is absolutely nothing we can do when they are the ones suffering, but continue to put up with all that crap. In other words, if they really don't mind eating shxt, there is nothing I can do from stopping them. Only they can help themselves.

In light of that, I can only hope that by repeatedly pointing out the failures of the CCP and HKSAR governments, enough people will at least recognize that 1) there are problems in the first place, and 2) the problems cannot continue. And yet we still have those mild tempered, mild manner idiots like MJJ in HK that oppose any sort of drastic (but non-violent) measures, and continue to believe in the Democratic Pigeon Party liars. And guys like Peter, FY, Rocky, Chunsh, Zoids are all beyond help...

Mr Lik, you are just an anti-China self-hating basher. Why don't you just admit most western countries are going bankrupt now?

Hong Kong and China have been able to maintain their economic growth while the rest of the world is crumbling.

China's growth comes from China's own economic reforms and urbanization.
China can grow without the western countries doing well.

During the 1950's when China didn't grow much, the western countries and Japan could grow without China. Now China can grow when the western countries are in trouble.

Lik, don't worry.  No one ever consider you that.  You are just a troll, a hardline attention whore, a China basher.  This is just what you are.  Therefore no one ever expected you to use your brain to think of anything constructive... EVER.

As Chinese immigrants who left HK, there is not much we can do really.  Therefore Lik should go back to HK if he keeps spamming LYK with those biased articles and comments everyday.

Ovaltine:

This is totally wrong to me:
Most of us are stuck with imitating Western ideals, the equality, freedom and integrity. Others feel there is nothing wrong with China, the Communist government is the best we are going to get.

I say most of us are not stuck with imitating Western ideals, instead we just realize how double standards got applied to whatever countries the West are afraid of for whatever reasons.  People realize that the whole Western political culture is relying on fear and brainwashing and corruption and propaganda.  Not really different from the "Communists", "Dictatorshiops", etc they are "fighting" with.  Read 1984 agaiin, and reverse the famous quote: "Peace is War; Slavery is Freedom; Strength is Ignorance." Understand the true meaning of doublespeak again.  Instead of censorship, how about information overload that desensitise the public.  This is exactly what's going on at this side of the world.

Only sheeps such as Lik totally believe those western ideals blindly and not seeing the double standard.  Because they also use the same double standard to measure China, their homeland; a lot of us are fed up and now started to fight back Lik's spamming after years of taking it.

You totally missed the point.  LOL.  I never wanted anything from China.  How about you?  Barking the same thing over and over and expect the result will be different.

Everyone can see who is the insane one here.  Your quota is up, no more energy will be wasted on you in this thread.

How many times do I need to tell you this? The country I call home is CANADA. Unlike certain hypocrites, I don't leech off this land and reap its government, national, and natural benefits while dissing Canada and praising the Heavenly Dynasty instead. If I have anything to give and contribute, I'd be giving them all to Canada. Why would I ever want to waste my efforts on stupid Grandfather?

On the other hand, since you and your gang just LOVE Grandfather so much, why aren't you packing your bags and heading back to your motherland? Why do you continue to live here when you clearly praise and prefer China instead?

Your action and your words are not just inconsistent with each other -- they are completely contradictory. That contradiction is the trademark of a hypocrite.

The thing I despise most about Chinese society is the persecution of intellectuals by the government. If they speak against the government, its called unpatriotic. Similar to what peter and fyi are doing on LYK
