Near by we have a Yan's Garden. Its food is so so but not worth the price. Any idea?

Seems like you are a new immigrant that still cannot adapt to local Canadian lifestyle...

BTW, back to your question. Around Lougheed Mall, you can't expect those Chinese restaurants to be in comparison with those top rated cuisines in Richmond or Vancouver. The area is more likely to be a Korean community. But still, there are some good restaruants nearby.

Hints: Usually areas around colleges (SFU, Coquitlam College) are not that bad (those oversea students can spend quite a lot on food...)

For Chinese food, there is Mui Garden on North Road (fair to good), North Garden Cafe (fair, still better than Yan's) on Cameron, New Szechuan (haven't visited for long, a surprising restaurant serving good food, but the seats are TOO tight, not suitable for 4+ people gathering) on Cottonwood Avenue.

For Western food, you can visit Anducci's on Cameron or Joey's on Lougheed Highway.

And there are still tons of Korean food and Greek restaurants nearby...

There are still couples more on Clarke/Como Lake area, Austin/Blue Mountain and Brunette area...

Come on, Mui garden curry base is good, but certainly not the meat. Sometime they just put the sauce on the meat to cook at the time when you order it.

Sorry you are wrong. I live in Burnaby around Lougheed Mall for exactly 30 years. I came to Canada in 1975. It's well known that Lougheed/North Road is Korean Town now. I can eat Korean once in a blue moon but I am Chinese! I will try Mui Garden again since lo_pak recommended it. Mui Garden was good but I haven't been there over 25 years because of their lousy food at that time.

I am not a Sushi fan but thank you. You live by the Mall then? Last time I was in that little plaza in September, California Sushi was moving. Hopefully it's renovating. Do you know? I would like to try Sushi there.

i live near that place and burquitlam.
anduccis has good lunch menus
red robins is somewhere i visit too
north garden is garbage - but i live close so i still go. so sad...
denny's for late night eating
food from the korean mall (smaller one below the old tokyo ichiban) is alright too

There's a good Shanghai Restaurant on Austin near Blue mountain,
Called Front gate. Right beside the mccdonald.
Not the best, but still good.

They used to be good (the best in the area) in the old days, but not any more after changing of ownership...

Yan's Garden is not bad! They still have good old dim sum cart! Jang.
