Considering the mileage, that price range seems a little low to me if they are only the asking price because that's almost where the CBB trade in values are at. I'd be a little cautious / suspicious when I am looking at those cars.
If you are planning to buy, I'd really recommend you to hire a qualified mechanic to do a proper used car inspection. Make sure you ask him to perform at least a compression test (and preferably also a leak down test if the compression test results are ok) because that would give you an idea about the current health of the engine.
But since mechanics costs $$ to hire, what I would suggest is that you should check the cars out yourself first, test drive them, and only ask for the mechanic to come inspect them if you think those cars are worthy enough for your consideration. When I was looking for my pos, a lot of times I just knew from the test drive that the car is not worth considering because she just doesn't drive right. Perhaps the engine isn't smooth, it feels sluggish and doesn't want to rev, the throttle response is poor, the transmission doesn't shift well, the car rides like crap, etc. If you pay attention to the car's feedback, a lot of times it isn't that hard to recognize when something is not right.
Good luck with your car hunting la~

It's difficult to "feel" the car if you don't know how to. I think it's best to find a friend who drives a Fit or someone who knows cars mechanically to be with you and test drive it.
If you are out of options, you can go to any Honda dealer to test drive a new one. That way, you know how a Fit will sound, feel like when you are doing what Lik suggested.
What kind of car you are coming from? The reason I ask is, say if you are used to a V6, all I4 cars feels crappy because you are used to the extra torque etc...

Sorry, a little bit off topic.
If I am looking for a car, is it possible to find out the estimated insurance per year?作者: Quest 時間: 2011-11-16 09:31
Your best bet is to bring a list of cars you have in your mind with your current insurance policy paper to any ICBC agent, sit down and have a chat with them to find out approx. how much the cost would be.

Good luck finding a base model Hyundai Accent. You're better off looking for a Mazda2 GX (base model) instead.
Unless it's a dual clutch transmission (not very many cars have those yet), a tiptronic transmission is usually no different than other regular torque-converter based transmission. It usually just means there is a manual mode available for you to choose your own gears, but even then, the ECU might upshift / downshift for you.
For 07-09 Fit, only the sport model has tiptronic. The base model has the normal auto gearbox. The sport model has 5 gears while the base model has less (4, I think?)
I have the sport model and I used +/- quite often. My wife never touch the pedals. The Fit's pedal shifter is behind the steering wheel. You don't have to put it into S-mode to use them. In normal D-mode, you could also use the - to do temporary downshift. S-mode will require you to do all the + and -. I seldom drive on S-mode like many tiptronic drivers unless I know I will be driving onto Sea-to-sky (or on snow since S-mode is the only way to do a 2nd gear start).作者: Lik 時間: 2011-11-17 12:15
A mechanic won't be able to tell you every problem that the car has, but he will notice a heck of a lot more than you do.
The obvious things include the quality of collision repair, engine condition, components wear and tear (belts, wheel bearings, CV joints, boots). A mechanic familiar Hondas / Fits should also be able to tell you problems that are common to that car.
