And, unlike HK, the Macau government is really efficient in handing their money back to its citizens.

but u can't accuse HK govt for that.

1) macau is smaller.
2) Macau government have done it before.
3) macau government knows how to give out money,,... and if they don't know they have people to ask:  Casino. lol

It's different cases. Macau is a smaller place and it's not easy to get a Macau ID these days.
So they don't have to worries people would overwhelm about the money...

Plus it's not their first time, so people won't all rush to get that $7000

Also, they have many casino back them up on the funding, so not to worry...

On the other hand, I'm surprise they are giving away $7000 in 2012.. because we only got $3000 in 2011.. .

So far this is the 4th time they do it
first time was 5,000, second time was 6,000, third time was 3000 and now 7000?
I guess their government must be loaded and never mind about the medical benefit

When I was in Macau last year, all I do is slight in my Macau ID into the scanner machine at transit hub and I think 3 $500 medical coupons printed out for me (1 year quota), if I can't use it up, then I just need to sign it at the back and pass it to my immediate family memembers...

The Macau handout is $7k b/c the HK handout was $6k. It is not a cheap shot, but it is very obvious that the amount was intentionally set to out-do HK's hand out.

May I ask were u born in Macau so you can get the ID? Do you think if parents have one I can apply too?
作者: Nam    時間: 2011-11-16 11:58

If your parents are born in Macau and they have macau ID, you can apply too.
That's how I get my ID
作者: Nam    時間: 2011-11-16 12:01

They used to grand wife and husband to have ID but they cancelled that policy long time ago.
IF your husband is Macau citizen, as a wife, you have to work/lives in Macau for certain years to keep it...

So if your parents have it, you can have it too.
I can't remember the procedures but I got my done just before they release the first 5K ....
which is 4 -5 years ago...

Actually only my Dad has it. When my mom tries to apply (they were both born in Macau, though), they said my Mom has to live for certain years. So I kinda thought I have to live certain year even though parents have ID.

Are you sure? I think my parents have to submit their birth paper (back then, there is no hospital) and found the witness to proof they were born in Macau..

What happened was they moved to Hong Kong when they were young, so we all have HK ID... before Macau hang over back to China, they tried applying.  I think my mom case was simpler because she has the proper paper work, my dad need to visit the very old 執媽 to get it done..
作者: fibbi    時間: 2011-11-16 12:56

Back in those days they don't have birth paper coz they are not born in the hospital lor...
Can't find 執媽 either...probably too old la...
作者: Nam    時間: 2011-11-16 13:16

Both my parents are not born in hospital, they went to find the 執媽
Your  parents probably same age as mine, so chance is they are able to find her still

I heard during those days, there are only few 執媽 ... and I think my dad 執媽  died but the 執媽  record everything and her child kept it..

I guess our case might be easier because  half my relatives from both side are still living in Macau, so it's easier to investigate...

But doesn't hurt to try
