諗住換機, 4S 3 年contract $159, and S2 LTE $179
兩者價錢差不多, 但偏向 Galaxy S2 LTE。
除了通訊, 一般用黎上網, 影相, 玩下apps
本身系iphone 4 用家, 我想聽聽S2 用家的意見。

上兩星期全家換機, 個朋友做cell, 問完, LG唔駛惗!
佢比咗部4s 同埋 IIs, 全家人玩, 兩大, 兩小, 四個人最後投票決定,
全家4:0去用IIs.

Nexus非常好, 但太大部.

I think there's something wrong with Apple marketing on the 4s...

No one would buy 4s without the death of SJ... It's just a sub-grade product...

may be we all PC user. And we all have Samsung tab 10.1.
it match with PC good. we go for IIs. data sync all match.

same time, we start switch to use i7 desktop (no more notebook).
how come??!!..... lol

use remote desktop. it light weight. all full power with i7, now we all can control it with tab 10.1 and IIs. through VPN... very happy. no more 4-7lbs notebook.

The galaxy note is more like a personal organizer + phone...

It's not possible to put it in your regular jeans...

Something wrong for it as a phone mostly because it should make you hand free when you're shopping, but it's not...

I don't like to use handset, they are not comfortable...

I always have a feeling if these phones can't integrate with my daily wears they are not "as good"...

I had iphone 4 and samsung galaxy s2....really enjoyed the iphone 4 alot more. more batteries, the apps just run a lot more efficiently. even though galaxy has winamp, ipod in iphone 4 beats it.

i tried Splashtop HD too, and it is good if you really need video streaming.
but i like more on apps control and management.
so i have

Remote RDP $10.29 (i think this one the best)
and
Remote desktop client $24.99
installed.

will try set up VNC, see if it work better.

今日去左 Rogers 問, 聽 staff 個語氣應該唔會賣 Galaxy Nexus。
Bell 8 Dec 出, 現已接受預訂。但聽某些用家話 Bell 麻麻地。
有無Bell 用家可以講講服務情況呢?

4S is so yester-year. :-) Spec wise, SGS2 still better than Nexus. I am skipping the Nexus and wait for SGS3

Rogers will get Galaxy Nexus, but in 2012. I think you are better off buying a SGS2 off contract for $550 in NCIX. I am not a big fan of Bell.

Actually for some odd reason, Bell got the exclusive on Nexus until next year. So the pre-order page from Rogers was pulled.

In short, SGS2 has Exyno CPU/GPU, faster than TI OMAP CPU/GPU. Screen on SGS is Super AMOLED Plus w/ Gorilla glass; SGS2 has HD Super AMOLED, which is a pentile screen. SGS2 has SDCard slot, readable as FAT32 in Windows. Nexus is EXT4, which you must rely on MTP for transfer.

Therefore SGS2 being a flagship Samsung device and has the latest bells and whistles, the Nexus is more more development with everything open-source.

Go for the SGS2. Then report back how it compares to the iPhone 4 in an extended real world day to day use test.

That said, I highly doubt there's any Apps that will be ran faster on the SGS2 compared to the iPhone 4S. Camera also pales. You are paying for variety basically. Not so much a problem for many tho.

Rogers has SGS2 LTE as well, an alternative for Bell if you must insist on carrier specific phones.

LTE is fast! We were doing it at demo... roughly 5-7 Mbps compare to 3-4 on HSPA+

我阿哥用緊部普通S2，S2 LTE聽講load HD video 轉眼就load晒同行得好順，我真係想見識下。我自己用緊部NEXUS S，真係冇咩投訴，款係開始舊不過都仲幾好用。岩我呢D smartphone新丁

Nexus all comes unlock as required by Google. If the Nexus run Cyanogenmod, the phone runs so much faster and save on battery.

Basically Rogers got shafted due to exclusive agreement between Samsung and Bell. Bell has been a good supporter for Bell during the HSPA+ network launcher before Olympic time. Rogers on the other hand, still in love with the relationship with Sony Ericsson... under estimated Samsung at that time?? I think so, and got bit at the end.

Nexus has a pentile screen but according to legit reviews (the verge) it has the best screen out of any Android phones. The low dpi on the SG2 is a joke.

Only major draw back is lack of SD slot and low capacity.

About the lack of SD, lack of SD slot means that USB transfer speed is much slower because it only supports MTP. With SD slot, the device gets recognized as a disk drive and supports FAT32. I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it is slow on files transfer comparing to my Galaxy S.

About the OS, I am not worry about future upgrades. See, my old HTC Legend is running Gingerbread 2.3.7 thanks to CM7. If you are into Android, you will most likely skipping out on the OEM's version and on MIUI or Cyanogenmod already. it's all about the dev community and popularity of the hardware. Just for the android users here:

I am deciding whether to get the Nexus Prime or wait for new phones in 2012, probably S3. I am using a 4S now and has the option to sell it for a very good price. I don't know if I should just wait it out for new Android phones next year but I will take a hit in my 4S selling price as time goes on. My primary concern about the Nexus now is that it uses crappy parts. A user review indicates most of the components are same as the samsung captivate... /facepalm..

Also I am wondering since the Nexus does not have an SD slot, does it mean it can't install apk through Astro?

x2. I don't know for a fact which one is better, Android or iPhone. Without using both extensively I think it's just stupid to base things just on spec numbers, etc. It'd be awesome to have someone who use one extensively vs the other.

And even that, different usage style will definately prefer a diff phone. One who likes the availability of apps title vs ease of configuration, vs depth of configurability, vs speed against video, camera quality, screen dpi, screen size, aftermarket supports, OS stability, app stability, exchange support, IMAPI mail features, browser real world speed, etc etc.......

calling names purely completely removes credibility. If someone can quote real life usage differences objectively, that will what actually be useful to help prospective buyers decide. Someone who purely only used late Android or late iPhones just simply can't give a lot of useful objective information.

My friend is planning to return his phone because of the battery life. He used a blackberry bold and is shocked at how fast the nexus drains

Looks like the phone has a much worse battery life than the 4s

Big screen, more drain, especially with 3g on with all the Samsung software running. The only way to fix this is vanilla ROM like the ones I mentioned. Personally, I don't care about brand as much until Samsung started to build something with brilliant spec. Coming from HTC, which is more conservative and restrictive, the Galaxy line is something impressive. I am paying close attention to Chinese brands like Meizu and Xiaomi, these guys are starting to pick up speed.

I might pick up the new Meizu, but if Samsung can convince me otherwise with S3, Android is still my prefer platform.

I have iPad, Touch myself as well, and I don't find them any magical.

The xiaomi has major qv issues

My friend is using nexus so it's already vanilla os

Of course you can, simply email, dropbox, or use an app called Wifi File Explorer Pro can send any files to the internal storage, and install it from the file manager.

I have been using Dropbox, WiFi File Explorer and ADB command to install apk without SD card.

adb push whatever.apk /sdcard/
adb install whatever.apk

Samsung calls the internal storage as SDCard, external SD as ExtSD; Cyanogenmod/AOSP calls it EMMC.... it's super confusing sometimes.
