It doesn't look bad, does it?
This is the congee type of breakfast. Served with pickle and some shredded salmon. I had it at a traditional Japanese Guesthouse.
I also had one with rice, poach tofu, grill salmon (very small piece), tamago (Japanese egg omelette), miso soup and natto ! Made by a friend when I visited Japan. I liked it.
Had similar one at Marulilu which you can choose tofu or natto. btw.. I saw a lot of "western bakery" in Japan, especially near the metro/train stations. I guess it depends on which area you are in and they have different type of stores.作者: fibbi 時間: 2011-12-29 01:06
I guess I just don't like pickle at all...
I was in Shinjuku area but didn't spot any bakery store... 作者: Guy 時間: 2011-12-29 02:31
I see. If I go again next time I should do more research ... Btw...the shinjuku station is huge that I almost get lost...(I don't know some gates actually closed after 9 (or 10?) and only one or two opened...and almost get trapped)作者: 趴地熊 時間: 2012-1-8 17:50
+1 for Marulilu. Have yet to try the breakfast at Tenhachi, have only been there for dinner. Their food is pretty solid. Go for their uni special (when in season).作者: mibu 時間: 2012-1-9 00:45
i've been to both marulilu and tenhachi
i love tenhachi and have been there many times because they have a variety of japanese breakfasts and they're all very yummy!!
marulilu was just so so. tried their natto breakfast, i remember. portion was a bit small for the price they charge.
