無錯, 呢間真係溫哥華最好食嘅gelato,  人家年年都去義大利去Gelato Festival 度比賽架. 今年仲贏左添呀! 唔信就睇下條link ㄚ! Bella Gelateria
我次次去到都有選擇困難症, 唔知揀咩味到好~ 但查實都唔難, 事關我唔鍾意食朱古力, 所以, 基本上都有一半係唔駛揀囉! 佢地D gelato 真係超滑架, 食過佢D gelato, 一定覺得Mario Gelato 個D行貨~ 我試過好多隻味架喇, 連merlot 都試埋, 真係好merlot 架! 好香好滑~ 但今次我就揀左Blood Orange Sorbetto, 因為之前食到好飽, 所以就叫D無咁漏嗰D味道囉~ 嘩~ 隻橙味香到呢~~~ 連sorbet 都滑到好似gelato 咁~ 真係好好味!

我個friend 就話我做乜要呢隻味, 佢話同普通橙味無咩分別, 我真係俾佢激死! 佢真係唔知道, 要知道隻雪糕係咪真係做得好, 就要試D最簡單個D味到架啦~ 落太多其他野落去, 根本就蓋過晒雪糕本身個texture 同味道~

唔緊要, 佢欣賞唔欣賞, 都返左香港喇~

好奇問它們的榴槤味你有無試過,抗拒嗎?那麼,真的榴槤水果你抗拒嗎?

我從來都抗拒真榴槤水果的氣味,想試用榴槤雪糕來測試自己的接受程度

我超喜歡榴槤啦~ 但我老公就憎到hell 咁囉~ 我去親邊間食雪糕, 望住D榴槤味, 都有得睇無得食.....
不過我好似見過有, 但唔記得喇~
查實唔止Merlot, 仲有其他酒味架, 但就要睇下個日有無囉~

bella is the only place I go for gelato since they opened!
They don't have a lot of flavor in the shop instead they have daily/seasonal ones.
James is very passionate about his gelato!
btw I really doubt they will have 榴槤味 there...

I still doubt they will have 榴槤味 right there...
but from their twitter, they were peeling lychee in the afternoon. So prob some lychee sorbetto tomorrow.

been there a few times, agree that it is 溫哥華最好食嘅gelato.  really like this place
haven't found another place in vancouver that could exceed their quality
btw, the owner is always there ... seems like he really likes making ice cream

I managed to get tickets to attend two of his gelato lessons this weekend and totally understand why he is so different from the gelato store elsewhere - its all about quality!!!!

The way they store their gelato - its all covered, they don't care if it doesn't look fancy or colourful, because he wants to retain the best flavor and texture of the gelato made ( just like you won't leave your bread/ overnight food uncovered in the fridge to prevent freezer burn and other stuff

They also used REAL stuff to make their gelato instead of mixing commercially available powder and milk.

Pic 1 - caramel they made from scratch
Pic 2 - Amount of mango used to make 4L of mango sorbetto - 1.6kg
Pic 3 - Traditional Spatula James used to scoop out gelato from machine -
Pic 4 - Process of blending chocolate powder and milk base before making gelato - takes very long, up to 4 hours if he is making chocolate sorbetto
Pic 5 - Chocolate beans he used to make 45% milk chocolate, 65% old fashioned chocolate and 99% dark chocolate gelato

Last time I went there the gelato is a bit too sweet for my taste. But very smooth though.

They have the best gelato as good as and better than some in Italy.
Yungfourfour, you are lucky. the classes were sold out in minutes! I couldn't get my hand on one.
James is very passionate on gelato making!

fibbi, if you have only tried  a few flavour, you can try other ones. Some are sweeter than others. (I think their lavender was too sweet for me but others were good!)

布小熊 - the free class i attended last wednesday only has 6 people (supposedly 8).  I am sure there are people who got the tickets for lessons who can't make it in the end just leave it.  The class goes until July as far as I know so Do leave a message on his facebook page/ twitter and see if anyone is giving away their tickets.  I am sure if you are crazy enough to talk to James and say you will sit and wait there every single night and waitlist for the gelato 101 he will just grab you in! He loves crazy people XD

Fibbi - yes not all flavor works for me (e.g. the Akbar Mashti flavor, its pretty much tasted like soap/ cosmetics to me, but Persian loved them and thats the only flavor they eat during Persian new year, which is two days ago).  Do try the 99% chocolate gelato, that is a very rich and not so sweet flavor

    When James initially launch the program it was free (all gelato 101 classes are free indeed).  Then when he adds more specialty classes with a charge ($20), it still sells out but at least everyone showed up.  Show him your craziness and get your butt in his kitchen !!
