最近去咗yaletown試一間新嘅afternoon tea地方 -  Patisserie Für Elise.

Located inside an heritage building.

地面賣甜品,樓上食afternoon tea

Window display:

Very nice decoration.

Menu:

佢未必係最省鏡嘅server,但係笑容+服務態度搭夠。

Love the green tea/red bean mousse. And there is a little "timer" for the tea.

Food? It's not bad. The dessert is not overly sweet. Very nice place to sit down and chit-chat. I would go back.

Does it matter what "uniform" the server wear? To me the place (whether the seating is comfortable, nicely decorated, clean...etc.) is more important. And the most important of all, FOOD.

Maid is the whole selling point of this place. I mean, the food and everything is excellent according to what I heard, but it's a theme cafe (where Maid is the theme). It's like going to Disneyland and say that the characters don't matter at all and all it matters is the rides.

I guess the whole decor matches the "theme" so I not only pay attention to what the server wear. Unlike go go cafe before which is more like a "maid" cafe to me.

it's not a maid cafe. It's just a afternoon tea and dessert place for girls.

Can a group of boys or men go to this cafe?
Seems like girls only

Men and boys can go too. But I think afternoon tea is more a girly thing.
The portion is usually small for men.

It looks like they copied from the Japanese maid cafe. The difference is that this cafe is British theme maid cafe.

x2, in other word, it's not for boyz...

I prefer pastries over dim sum, but I would go to Faubourg or Thomas Haas instead.

that would be my pick too!

Actually I found Faubourg ok...I would pick Thomas Haas over Faubourg.
But western pastry is usually too sweet for my taste.
