don't mean to be paranoid....if possible....might want to check the emergency escape route with these units...i lived in a 套房 in wanchai...there were 3 gates before i could get to the back stairs for any emergency...and the window was blocked by the 去水渠...    i moved away form that unit after a month...

Thanks but how to check? Just ask the guy when I book?
作者: yuusaku    時間: 2013-4-30 20:48

might worth asking...no idea would they tell the detail...

if you are not in hk now, a bit hard to know...

if they tell you the address..try google street view the building...see if it is new enough at least...

some pic at http://www.hk1.cc/ look kinda ... gross...
A few shower curtains looked stained. Why do they use funny bed sheets for guesthouse?
作者: yuusaku    時間: 2013-5-1 09:27

looks like they are more reliable:

LOL, i don't think that's what the OP is looking for.

might as well suggest the Ritz-Carlton @ICC.

Ibis hotel north point is charging you almost half the price of the residence you are looking and you can have your own bathroom and easy MTR access....... Free wifi, room is small though I have to say (gotta choose harbour view its worth it)

http://www.chi-residences.com/

If you plan to stay more than 2 weeks consider this website..... price is ~ $17000 HKD a month.../ $8500 HKD a month for each person

If you are female and don't mind sharing bathroom try  梅夫人.... they have maid and laundry service included in your stay

Hotels in HK are very expensive now. The hotel we stayed last time has increased it's price 2x 3x so we will have to consider something else... it's just not justify to spend money on hotels as we only need a bed & shower, that's it... it's like $170+ per night, damn crazy

my last trip about three years ago (around june/july) ...i couldn't find any hotel in 油尖旺 at a reasonable price (well..i couldn't afford peninsula/4 season) ...basically hotels have 3 quotas...
1.  mainlanders
2.  non-mainlanders visitors
3.  local
so with a local ID + Canadian passport...i couldn't get anything....basically a huge portion of quota was reserved for #1... fortunately a friend of relative has space for me to stay...else i'll be sleeping on the street...

not sure is it still the same in 2013...

I just went back for ~ 15 days february 2013 (it was Nin Chor 5 during chinese new year).... I got #1 with no problem but not at its cheapest price (13 days for $9000HKD)..... The trick is to check price everyday well advance and book it when the price looked reasonable (you can book city view first if thats cheaper).... if the price ever drops depending how much it drop they are more than happy to upgrade you with harbour view room or offer you free breakfasts.

Which district are you looking for? MK and TST are quite expensive as mainlanders like to stay there. I found that prices of some decent hotels in Hong Kong island are not bad, maybe it's far for mainlanders to go if they take train. Closer for them to stay in kowloon and NT and do shopping there.

I'm looking for HK Island, especially North Point, Causeway Bay or Wanchai.
