anyone know a reliable place where i can unlock my iphone? hopfully not too expensive as well
i saw on craigslist unlock services range from $5-35, but don't know if they are trustworthy

Do it yourself... use the pwnage tool... i can be done safely in about 15min.

I spent HK$980 for a "Iphone--Made in China" and I do not worry how to unclock. As well, it only cost me HK$3,900 for the geniuen Apple that need no unlock as well.

If his/her phone is not unlocked .. then most likely it is from US .. then $399 la..
