"We’re not sure what to make of this. A mother appears to have asked her son to relieve himself into a garbage can while in public at Richmond Centre.

Last time we checked, there are plenty of washrooms inside Richmond’s largest shopping centre.

However, for this guardian, a short walk to one of the mall’s washrooms proved to be too much of a distance. For some reason, the boy had to urinate into a garbage can out in the open inside Richmond Centre. What happened to public etiquette?"

I've been living here (calling this ma home) for a few decades now, never before have I seen such arrogance and shame coming from recent migrants (mainlanders). Thought that this would only happen to HK, but nooo......it's coming to Canada as well. No wonder outsiders hated them to the bones.

Well, I look at it from another way: I'll keep trying to merge into the mainstream society and be part of Canada/Canadian; these recent migrants will ended up becoming 3rd class citizens...can't communicate, can't blend in to the society and be part of it, living in their isolated world, constantly being ignored by others of the same race, etc. They can claim that they live happily but eventually they will be marginalised.

We the rest of LYKers should behave properly in front of the rest of the folks out there, show them what a true "Chinese" ought to behave, and blend in to the society and be a strong, if not valuable contributor to Canada.

Ignore these morons, I'd say. Let them rot. We'll take pics when they pee and will post on LYK to share (to shame them).

It’s not a matter of whether the kid could hold it or not. This is their great culture. Peeing and pooing in the public is just part of the street scenery. I’ve seen a video showing an adult man pooing on the curb side in Hong Kong. Beside him was a woman holding tissue paper awaiting him to complete the mission. There were tons of ppl walking by but no one seemed to bother to say anything. I think they have got used to it. Poor Hong Kong ppl. Now they are here. Do we have to compromise?

I have read a lot of comment on fb when HK people discuss about this matter

some body did raise his/her voice and tried to show them the washroom
but do those mainlanders ever listen? No they don't, and they would even give you negative/rude feedback

小弟細個個陣"成日"在街邊小便, 直至有一日, 比一個路人笑, 之後就冇再咁做了.
文明是需要時間和誘因的.

I can understand peeing in public if there is no washroom near but when you are in a mall, there is no excuse.
