給白人朋友考起中國點心的名稱 , 請各位中國人LYK盡展所長,大家合力訂定精簡標準英文名稱, 大家以後在白人朋友面前不用再 O 嘴兼屈點心 :

Even the office English translation published by Chinese government during the Summer Olympic has a lot of
mistake. It is true that Chinese menu is not the easiest thing to translate. I've seen a lot of English
translation from cookbooks published in HongKong, they provide more laugh than information.

ya, why not just call them by Siu Mai , Cheung Fun, Har Gao?? even in french/italian restaurants, they go by french/italian name.. then with subscript in english explaining what it is..

talking about 點心..上星期去左新瑞華 (richmond)﹐D野食差o左好多!! 同埋D茶既味道好怪 (叫o左普洱)..very disappointed..

Oh really? I went there last month and I thought the food was OK. I haven't been to that place for years so I don't know what their "normal" quality.

Come Calgary, and try chinese food/dim sum here ..

Then once you guys go back to Vancouver .. for sure will have TEAR when having chinese food/dim sum ...
