Any comments about them? I'm considering to switch from Fido to Koodo.
Thanks!作者: GAClone 時間: 2008-8-9 16:31
I am not a Koodo user, but switching from Fido to Koodo would mean you're going from GSM to CDMA...unless you're willing to make that move, I would say there isnt much of a consideration.
And once you've made that choice of switching from GSM to CDMA, I would consider all other CDMA networks as well, such as Telus (which I believe owns Koodo, but not 100% sure), Bell, or even Virgin Mobiles.
If it's me, I would prefer Virgin Mobiles, Bell or Koodo, THEN Telus. And I say dont go with Telus b/c they have a terrible termination fee. Your monthly fee x Number of months left on your contract OR minimum $200...where other places such as Rogers or Bell is maximum $200 to terminate your plan. Furthermore, Telus has crappy after sales service.
Hope that helps.作者: holden 時間: 2008-8-9 17:54
Telusmobility TLC is min 100$ and yes Koodo = Telus作者: ah3 時間: 2008-8-13 22:38
If I'm right, CDMA meaning no sim card right? I didn't know they are CDMA. If they have a cool looking phone that I like....I might consider.

What are the disadvantage of having CDMA?作者: pkphilip 時間: 2008-8-26 21:40
As I keep making fun of my ex assistant manager (white washed E. Indian - like Russell Peters) now working for Bell, "NO SIM CARD!" (in funny Chinese accent)

The only thing that I didn't like CDMA was it's such a hassle to input the phone #s all over again when I switch to a new phone, talking about yrs back.
For the "new" CDMA phones on the market, anyone knows if I could just upload the phone list to the PC then to the new phone? If it's possible then I totally dun mind to switch over.

Why switch to CDMA when GSM is more widely used all over the world?作者: magsss 時間: 2008-9-3 00:06
basically i would say koodo/virgin and then very very last bell and telus... bell has termination fee as well.. up to 400 as i remember depending on how many months left for ur contract...
another disadvantage is if something goes wrong with ur phone, you can't just grab any other cdma phone to replace yours, you'll have to either call the CS or go to their store for a loaner phone作者: ah3 時間: 2008-9-3 22:53
