Menya Japanese Noodle, 401 West Broadway...
Me and my friend both ordered the ramen set for $10.25, included 1 ramen,1 rice ball, and 4 pieces of gyoza...the gyoza was okay to me,but the rice ball,i don't like it at all,i saw many people didn't finish it either...and the ramen, they only have 2 choices there, either Nagahama ramen, or Tonkotsu Miso ramen...only 2 tiny pieces of pork there..and the broth was kinda salty..the portion is small.....um...overall,i think the downtown one is way better...

I went there too on Monday, just very ordinary.

There is one on Robson, next to Jung Mo Jib.. forgot the name. It has good ramen.

BenKei ?

I tried it twice and so far the quality is very consistent. I like the miso tonkatsu there coz they have a very rich soup base and you can order extra noodles after you finish the first one.

Benkei's soup base is chicken, so kind of hard to compare. I like benkei coz they have soft boiled egg!

I don't think Benkei's ramen is only chicken based.
shoyu (consommé style with chicken stock), Shio (pork bones and meat-based) and miso (miso, shoyu and shio combo).

Motomachi Shokudo (sister restaurant of Kintaro) serves with only chicken-based broths.

tonkotsu ramen is the type of ramen with a soup base made from pork bones.

I love rice ball, I wonder what is it that is not so tasty…
How much are the rice ball and how much is the gyoza?

From the picture, the ramen looks kinda small

碗麵我見唔到有麵既?
D gyoza 黐埋一舊既?

咁既貨色收人10.25,真係聽執都得啦

mine is a combo, if u order them individually, then rice ball is $2.80, the ramen is $7.00 and gyoza 8 pieces is $4.80

I just tried and I agree I like the noodles at Kintaro better but I like the soup for the Nagahama Ramen.  It is creamy yet not heavy at all.  Only if they can put more noodles in it.......  The miso one is too salty but not Nagahama one.

G-men has Tonkotsu ramen too wonder how comparable they are...

Finally tried it today (sorry for digging out old thread)

had the nagahama ramen today, it was quite good
noodles is thinner comparing with the tonkotsu miso
personally me and my friend like the nagahama better

I got greedy and order extra egg but I will prob just skip the egg next time.
I like their thin skin Gyoza.
It looked better when it arrived. I almost start eating it before I got the picture.

Is it because Menya is close to Olympics village?
