Just forget about the Lexus or the GM hybrids. These Chinese hybrid cars have a shorter recharge time, longer range and more recharge cycles for the battery. Basically, the Japanese and the Americans have to buy from BYD, or just go back to redesign their products.

when do you have to stop sucking mao's dick?
BYD is  VERY innovative...
they can't even design their own car and have to make an exact replica of the last gen corolla

yes, photoshopping their badge on to a corolla is a HUGE technology breakthrough!!!!!!

not to mention the battery will probably blow up like those fake cell phone batteries made in china LOL
作者: Hyde    時間: 2009-1-13 03:10

even their logo is ripped off from BMW

You stupid anti-Chinese moron. Please do not embarrass yourself here. BYD is probably the one of the largest battery companies in the world, designing batteries for companies like Nokia, Apple and Sony etc because these companies cannot design for themselves. Don't you know about this you silly moron?
Now they are just entering the car market, maybe with cooperation with another car company. I knew morons like you will say the car looks like a Corolla. But it is the battery technology, not car design, where BYD excels. They designed a new type of battery for cars that outperforms those from Japan or the US. Their technology is so good that even Warren Buffet bought a share in the company.

Are you saying all the LYKs in Canada "betrayed" their home country?

BTW, if you do not believe what I said, at least believe what Warren Buffet thinks about this company. Of course, only time will tell if they are successful.

They never said they designed the car? I think they just use the Corolla to show case their battery technology. They however, of course can't advertise for Toyota so they must replace the Toyota badges. I agree that their own badge looks quite bad and is a BMW rip-off tho.

Never mind... they did rip off Toyota....

they were a cell phone company 5 years ago ... so i don't see how they could come up with a new design without copying.

not that it's right, however.

Comeon, you love China so much that your money-making business empire is located there. If you hate Hong Kong/China so much, then just close all your businesses there.

The main point is the battery, since they are a battery manufacturer. I suspect they cooperated with another Chinese car maker that happens to be the partner of Toyota in China. So they are just using the Corolla to showcase their battery technology.

They don't need to copy, since they are the leaders in battery technology, better than Nokia or Sony.
The fear here is that what if BYD really came up with something superior, and then the Japanese come and steal it and claim they invented it.
People would not believe that the Japanese need to steal.

I hate china, but I don't hate money. Get your fact straight.

there is no partnership between BYD cars and Toyota, they simply used a corolla to make the mold for their car.  Hence stealing their design and its not even a "display" for using the fake corolla, the F3 has been for sale for years ripping off the corolla design.  Forgot to tell you, the F3 is a corolla front and Fit Sedan in the back with a corolla interior.

The only company in china that sell legit rebadge toyota is Red Flag.

If they were stealing the design, then why didn't Toyota sue them? Also, they started to sell the electric F3 just last year, not a few years ago. A few years ago they were still just a battery maker.
Also, they are now displaying the F3 in Detroit. Why is Toyota/Honda not suing them?
Anyway, it is their battery technology that is leading the world, not car making.

F3 has been sold as a gasoline car for a long time already... come on, have you EVER even been to china?  oh well, you'll just avoid this question anyways... like all of the other questions people asked

and their battery technology is not leading in the world...

Comeon, they didn't even have this car battery ready a few years ago. So why would a battery company sell a gasoline car?
It was another company that was selling a rebadged Corolla.
