上個禮拜去Aberdeen Food Court, 見到一檔新檔既賣咖哩的舖頭...
當日又好想食咖哩...都有想左一陣, 又見佢放在上面大大張相的咖哩牛腩真係好靚!
「好似」好好味咁!

跟住我梗係決定落Order叫左一個咖哩牛腩飯試下,
都要$6.98(差不多咁上下價錢)....
個白飯真的好大, 到咖哩出來的時候.....點解??同張相分別咁大??
最離譜的孫..只係得4"舊"牛腩, 倆"舊"薯仔, 同得真係孤寒得好少好少的咖哩汁!!
仲不特止呀.....佢D咖哩牛腩係凍的..只是微暖!!!

若果佢真係好食, 貴都值得....
這間椰XX (正正在風沙雞翼旁) 真係又貴又少又凍!!
大家家千祈吾好試呀!!!!!

試過個海南雞飯同喇沙。

嘩！個飯乾到我胃痛。Ｄ雞少過broadway，Ｄ醬少到唔想比gum，個喇沙細到唔夠飽但係要$6.xx，都係同一個形容詞，孤寒！我情願食以前麻麻地o個間，起碼飽Ｄ。

Broadway舊鋪我真係覺得好食，搬左新鋪後Ｄ水準差左仲貴左，而家時代坊仲要做到好似倒自己米gum，真係唔開好過。

難怪挾著"Cafe D'Lite"呢個名都要拍烏蠅。

I really like their Hainanese chicken rice at the old old location.

My friend and I went there for lunch once. We ordered two meals and when the orders were ready for pick up, I asked a lady for sauces (both the sour & sweet one and the ginger one), the lady gave me one mini dish with one drop of each! Hey, despite the super mini size, shouldn't we get two dishes (since we have two meals)?!
I don't think I'll go back again.

You can try my food court one. You might like it but then you might not but it's authentic Malaysian's curry.

So far, most people I talked to like it.

The cook is going back in end of March so the taste will change then...

Strawberry Cone買過一次, 無咩特別, 所以無再買..
Cream Puff, 我多數都靜係o係aberdeen食lunch/dinner, 因為係個度返工

無gum難吃啊, 我上個星期先去食，味道不錯啊.. D海南雞都好滑，咖喱都ok 啊。分量都過得去啊.

Ultraman, 你應該問佢地拿多一個醬，上次我有問，佢地都要比我兩碟..maybe sometimes 要specify 幾多碟比果地員工知啊.

Well, it's like they gave only one pair of chopsticks for two meals. It's not making sense in the first place.
Even I asked, they may give me another super mini dish of mixed sauce of one drop each. One little drop of sauce is not even enough for one little piece of chicken anyways. How many more dishes (or drops) should I ask for? Not just because I am being mean and picky, I think they are really 吝嗇 or just don't know how to make customers go back.

間新既海南雞我食過兩次
第一次係海南雞飯，雞還可以但係D飯好唔掂，好硬
第二次就係因爲上次D飯唔掂，所以叫左海南雞喇沙
呢次就好少少，我食得唔多所以量對我黎講就OK囉
男仔就應該唔夠食架喇

風沙雞翼係就黎唔做啦，話租貴頂唔住wor

I think it depends on who serves you. Some people are more friendly on giving people extra plates or chopstick.

Well, if I only order one meal and thus they gave me only one set of cutlery, of course it's very making sense. And if I ask for another extra set, I prepare to pay extra money or if they're kind and generous enough, they may not charge me. However, if I order two sets of meals, I won't expect to get one set of everything (sauce and cutlery), right?

Oh no... . Seems like their lives never be smooth. They had hard time finding new location since they had to moved out from the old Aberdeen Center, now when they're doing quite well in the current location (I think), they have to move again... sigh.

仲有呢個時勢, 咁樣呃人法,咁冇水準的食物, 佢地咁既價錢, 仲係唔包飲品....
「亮記」真係好食好多! 仲平過椰X林, 唔怪得「亮記」時時都有人排隊, 其係有佢既道理!
而且客人走左就真的唔會再返轉頭架! 而且且Richmond 真係太多選擇,
客人亦唔會比機會去"等"你進步! 我相信椰XX 真的命不久矣!
做生意真的要攞個心出黎架!

其實最失望係由最舊鋪好好食好有心，新broadway鋪貴但仲ok好食，變到而家不知所謂既水準。可能係家庭經營做唔得大啦，開間分店反而仲弄巧反拙keep唔到。

以前讀書都會不時心思思想食，而家呢間行過都唔想幫親。

Happy, 唔係間間food court or 餐館都包飲品，even McDonald 你都要加錢先買到those combo meal lah. 對你來講，好像每一間餐館or food court D 餐包飲品係理所當然，我就唔覺得好合邏輯. 人地都要錢來買回來啊.

btw my food court restaurant is in Richmond Public Market, it's different restaurant than the one OP mentioned.

The cook is coming back but in 3-4 months so I just hope people will start to come back then..

I recommend it not because it's my restaurant but his cooking is really good. If you really want to eat authentic Malaysian food, it's the place to go. I think the only other one that has good Malaysian food is Banana Leaf.

Tropica's food is okay but it's like those western Chinese food; they are not authentic.

I tried the one OP mentioned in Aberdeen Center and to be honest I was not impressed.

i tried that place once like a month ago? i'm also an old time fan of the original Cafe D'Lite on 4th. First of all the hainanese chicken rice cannot be compare to the original taste la, chicken is not in good shape, with all the extra think layer of fat still sticking under the skin and it is tasteless, no i should correct that, i could taste the unfreshness of 雪藏雞. Rice is ok for me as i am not that picky about the softness of rice but the taste is not the same as the original lor. I won't go back again since it is overpriced and taste = 0 . And ya, they gave me so little spicy red garlic sauce and no ginger paste (in the vancouver store they do give you both sauce)? and the chicken is also missing some hainanese chicken soy sauce which is what i liked about the original taste, and i guess that's why they are tasteless.

just my 2 cents

Don't like the new one, I like the old one better! The new one is the same owner on W. Broadway, they are good at 10 years ago, especially not many rest cook the "Hang Nam Chicken", but they are downhill now and small portion too

我祗係食過一次咁大把, 但當時有好强烈智慧被侮辱, 極端無奈同被整蠱嘅感覺, 我甚至睇吓係咪有偷拍鏡而兜飯係用嚟挑戰我嘅忍耐力嘅..

In other words, food source from all other food court stores must be free! Otherwise, how can they offer reasonable food in reasonable and no complaining price? If the food is in higher quality and/or larger portion and the service is nicer, I really don't mind to pay a little more (I think same as many of us think like that). But please listen to all of our voices (except you), all of us think the chicken (main subject) is no good and tasteless or even with a bad stinky frozen aftertaste, portion is just too little, rice is too hard, no drink with meal, but over priced... . Whatever you say here won't make the food and our impression any better! Only if they improve, or to fold is their only end.

We won't expect to enjoy 5 star quality food and service in any of the food courts. We only want a fair deal, we paid what we should get.

I am new to restaurant business and I go by the rule: The quality has to be good enough for at least for us to eat. I always bring the food for my lunch.

When you go late evening, we do not cook any more dishes because we do not put cook food overnight thus it looks pretty empty and not very attractive at all....

I just want everyone to be able to eat this cook's food. Good or bad, at least you know how real Penang food tastes like. Personally I think his food is good enough to open his own restaurant (not food court one) which he plans to.

Someone even came from Alberta to eat his food every month.

Sorry to OT here, but I would like to know. Is your current chief not the "good" one, and the "good" one you mentioned will be coming back in a few months time? And therefore the taste of food would be even better after he comes back later? But then you mentioned "he" is planning to open his own restaurant. Which one did you mean, the current one or the coming back one?

My current chief is the Malaysian one. He is planning to go back to Malaysian in end of March and come back in few month. When he comes back, we may close down the food court restaurant and he may open his own restaurant.

That's the only chief we have at the moment. I do not really care about intern chief.

To tell if some Malaysian restaurant is operated by Malaysian Chinese, just simply ask for "Sambal" sauce, which is their "hot" sauce. That's what I always do when I go into any Malaysian restaurant. I can name a few restaurant the waitress did not even know what sambal sauce is...

We have the good Sambal sauce too.

Even you're not talking to me, but I just feel this is very funny.
While 10 people say it's a problem, there is only you say it's not. Maybe you just got a special taste than we normal people.
Moreover, many of us try to give constructive comments rather than just criticizing insincerely.
No matter what kind of relationship is between you and the store, many people are disappointed by the store and won't go back again. That's the fact. But of course, you have your own freedom to go back again and again if you like, and you are welcome to tell them, their food and service is really more than enough to improve, let them remain what they're doing. We have lots better choices to go.

正如我之前所講如果你係識椰xx的人仲好, 有我地的意見我都希望食得返以前的水準. 但睇你接受能力咁低我而家真係希望你唔係椰xx的人, 我唔想椰xx無藥可救呀!

我的估計同其他人食後感都係我地自己的感覺, 你要自己對號入座玩小器I don't really care neither.

I think if all the comments are towards my restaurant, I will listen and see what I can improve. So far, I did not really see any harsh mouth. all the people are just describing their experience.

Me too. I also really appreciate your attitude to run business. Honestly, whether the taste of your current food is good or bad doesn't really matter, because you have a heart to get it improved! Even now is good, you always think to do even better (but well, no need to put money into other competitors pockets, hehe). Therefore, I'm sure no matter your main chief comes and goes, you will succeed in your business!

I bought 3 chicken rice take out from 椰XX 2 weeks ago (weekday, afternoon). Maybe all three of us are not picky or what, we think the food was okay in terms of taste and portion... So I am kinda surprise by the comments here. Maybe I was really lucky!
