I wish I had seen your post before I bought the Tom Tom GPS at Staples for $149 a couple of weeks ago. This one at $169 (less $20 coupon when order online) seems to be a better featured unit

I got it at $170, add $8 filler and apply $30 off coupon; then price adjust to $100...

End up cost me $80 for one of these GPS.

Now hacked to Windows CE, and installed another GPS program to enable mp3 player, video player and picture viewer.

For old guys like me who doesn't have good eyes...

I'll stick with my Microsoft Street & Trips + Receiver + Laptop....

13" vs 4.3" display...

Same Price (On sale $99.00)
Easy to travel with (have to bring my laptop for business trips anyway, the receiver's size is similar to an ipod shuffle)
Touch screen control (My laptop is HP TX1000 series)

I don't think you can put anything with 13"screen on the dash...I tried my friend's Eee PC with 7" screen and navigation system; yet I found it was really hard to read the maps...
Usually I travel alone, so I'll put the laptop on the passenger seat.
Or you can get a car laptop mount lor. . . (~$50)
Again, for guys without good eyes, I think it will be a better alternative.

Regardless of screen size, why would the driver read the GPS' screen anyway when he is driving? That's why you want TTS (text-to-speech) in the GPS to read you the street names ar mah.

Did you ever try driving with a talking GPS? (well, I think all GPSs are talk-able.) Even it can talk, you still need to look at the screen from time to time for many reasons ga bor, and actually sometimes you might think it talks too much and feel annoying tim, haha... .

The good ones will remind you ahead of times which streets to take ga mah.

I don't think a GPS can pronounce EVERY street name in the city. For example, except for those main roads, my GPS can only tell me "Turn righ in XX KM", "Take exit number XX" something like that.
