"一個人去喝茶"? that sounds lonely, anyway, thanks for the heads up, I've never been there and will never be there too.

Custom officers, in any country, are not supposed to smile at you.

I just find it hard to find parking and this restaurant is on second floor. So its kind of hard to get to.

I am just saying customs officers are not supposed to smile at you. So LYKs should not complain about that. I am not saying waiters should be like that. Please do not misunderstand my point.

I have been to a few countries that the customs were pretty nice. The custom even welcome us when we arrived Hawaii.

It is not we misunderstood you, it is you yourself have problem in expressing yourself.

Really? You mean the government orders the customs officers not to smile at travelers and suspected-tourists but to black face them?

I didn't say the government ordered the customs officers not to smile. If you happen to go to a certain country and the customs smile at you, that's fine. But you know, those are not waiters or sales people, so please do not expect them to smile at you.

Of course, custom officers don't work in the "service industry" like waiters/waitress, but even more than that, they are representing their country behind. Should they give a black face and be rude, or a friendly face with a light smile, I think the government would care more than any traveler.

This is simply your own expectation.  The reality is that they're mostly not smile and nice to you.  Their role is to be intimidating.

There is no rules and regulations that people must smile to their clients, but, it is the attitude that you are whether or not respecting yourself and others.

Is that your own imagination too? Is "your duty is to intimidate all travelers and tourist" clearly written on their staff manual/handbook?

I have a friend who is a US custom officer.  I was told they were trained that way.  Of course not all countries are the same, but if people would do some thinking with their head, they would understand why.

We don't care those custom officers or waiter are smiling to us or not, but at least we should be treated nicely with respect.

If they do not respect the tourist and we could always file a complaint.  And I don't think they don't care about it!
