any body know where's a good chinese restaurant to have a wedding banquet? besides Jui Heung Yuen??

any suggestions??

for how many tables? and when is ur wedding??? Jui Heung Yuen is no good..(in terms of food & service) dun choose it...

it's gonna be summer 2010, around 25 tables.....
my brother had his wedding there, the food was no good...only the venue looks nice, that's about it....

25 tables is a lot..and you need a big room without poles.. how about 新瑞華?

玉庭軒要分兩邊~但係條樓梯好正~ 簽名處可以放樓下~ 幾靚下架~ 佈置埋條樓梯就無得頂~~ 但係D野食就麻麻啦~ 上次搵酒樓有去過飲茶麻麻地~ 你要搵邊區?? richmond 既我走渾晒lu~~

i dont think Richmond 新瑞華 is good...
i have my dinner hold for yok ting hin, will check it out this saturday...
but other than that place, i think i will hv it at kirin........

玉庭軒looks quite nice to me.. since i saw u need to buy around 200 bakery cards.. i assume that you might need more than 20 tables? If that's the case, you can 包場 and use the stairs too. reception at the ground floor and dinner on the 2nd floor. I am not sure about the taste of the food... their 早茶 are not that tasty.. but for myself.. the best part about 玉庭軒 is their lovely stairs that u can decorate it nicely..

yes that's exactly what i like about yok ting hin... love the staris. will definitely see how things go this saturday... a frd of ours knows the manager there or smth, hopefully can get us more deals hehe

aiya.. we booked too late and when we check with 玉庭軒, they are fully booked on my date!! same as Kirin XP So we end up booked with 海港~~ i love 玉庭軒 stairs so much ah!!

aiya.. we booked too late and when we check with 玉庭軒, they are fully booked on my date!! same as Kirin XP So we end up booked with 海港~~ i love 玉庭軒 stairs so much ah!!

i was so scared someone will choose my date... because we only want Saturdays and 2010 august/july only one Saturday that is a good date along with the Chinese calendar... and so this is why i want to book it way ahead now. but even now someone is holding the date in august!!

our first pick is yok ting hin... we thought about 海港 but then we changed our minds.. so our backup would be kirin

this dress is by Monique Lhuillier.. from 2009 spring collection. there is actually a store that sells this brand dresses in vancouver.

and i can't afford this dress.. too expensive ><

ohoh~ same thing here.. my big date is a good date from the chinese calendar...and there are not much good dates fall on the weekend after July 2009. that's why most banquet places were fully booked.. we got the last time slot for our chapel.. and we have a hard time choosing the banquet place.. (well.. we were late.. we decided the date in Feb 09 and have the big date in Aug) wakakaa we are those last minute shoppers? lol

most popular places booked up fast!! where are u planning to have ur ceremony?? how abt pre-wedding pics?

this was what i was worry about.... at least i still got one of the dates....

but i guess feb is kind of late, but you found a place so that's very good. as for the photos we decided to do them in vancouver.. to save some $$. and for the ceremony, we will just be doing the chinese tea ceremony... we don't want to go chapel

but it must be a good experience to hv it in a chapel!

why do u need to buy so many bakery cards? u should buy less and save the $$ for chapel~~ lol~ The chapel costs around 1200 for ur info XD
For the wedding photo in Van, you can go and take a look at 紅娘~ 2nd will be 巴黎春天.. others are just so so~~~ dun choose 百合仙子.. you will regret (u go and look and u will know)... unless u want to save $$ on the pre-wedding photos~ I took mine in TW..but I went to these studio in Van to look for my wedding date photographer.. and i really like the 紅娘 pre-wedding album samples.. super nice.. even the gowns..want to take a 2nd one~ but very expensive..

i think Yuk Ting Hin is pretty booked up too...coz i reserved a date there, but i change my mine, and they just called me couple days ago to ask me if i still want it.....and that's for next July, so i am guessing alot of ppl are starting to look at places now......btw, July 10, 2010 is a very very popular date....that was my first choice, but everywhere is booked up with that date.....

i actually booked for my pre-wedding photos already this last sunday

the reason i need to many bakery cards is that i would need one/one per family for those who attend to my dinner.. as well my side's family and friends... as well relatives/friends in hk =_= i need to get those in hk

and the reason we don't wanna go to chapel is that my fiance don't want to.. and actually i don't want too.. oh well lol

oic~~ we got 50 bakery cards from hk for my relatives and my family frds in hk..gees..i think it's kinda waste of $$

and i was trying to minimize the # of bakery cards in Van....probably around 30...
heehee~~ I just want to have a formal ceremony ~~ wear long tail dress and walk on the aisle.. wakaka..and my bf knows i gonna love to have it on a chapel..

my bf said we can do it again for our 1st yr anniversary...or choose to use the $$ to go to vacation. (of coz 係有餘錢既情況下啦~~)

as for the pre-wedding photos, we don't wanna spent too much money on it.. cause for our budget we spend a lot on the dinner. we booked it at yohan 2nd floor.. i did ask my dad to take a look at the sample as he is a profession at photography~ he said it's not the best and not the worst.. something in the middle.. but also i think it was such a quick decision to get engage and marry in the first place (it was a long story) but we did talk about getting marry in the future.. yea we decided to get marry at the end of march.. engaged last month. everything is so fast!!

i believe if you looked for the dresses on internet/bridal magazines... there's usually a store locator? i saw a lot of USA brands... perhaps those won't be as expensive? another good place to check out is Davids bridal in Burlington, that's what i heard from co-workers

i went to yok ting hin and kam yuet hin... but the two compare is such a difference as i can see it clearly tonight. the setting at yok ting hin look really old at night time as there was someone hosting their wedding banquet there... but definitely more parking space than kam yuet hin...
