Both me and my husband were so upset when 草苺牛奶洋食屋closed down, since they had very good food. And now, a new rest called 牛仔餐廳 is opened in that spot. We then decided to try. Today is only their 3rd day of business. We both ordered their 米線, which is better than we expected. Since they are so new, they dont' have much choice in the menu. Here are so photos of it.
My hubby's 魚湯底, which is very good, can taste that they are 真材實"liu"

Yeah, but the first time we went, my husband didn't wanna go in. He said he doesn't wanna eat at a pink restaurant. After I forced him to, he loves that place but he said he wont' go with guy's friends since it is so pink...hahahha

that's the combo, you can pick 2 toppings, but if you pick chicken wings, you have to pay $1 more. The combo also includes free hot drinks.

Aiyah! So 草苺牛奶洋食屋 is finally closed? I really like their food and drinks ah.

They open at "strange" hours...like they're not open for Sat lunch. I tried going there a few times to find them closed.

睇完個POST我同愛人琴晚試咗～
坐低，睇睇個MENU。。。PK！原來係BBT，唔係茶餐廳嚟嘅～？！我睇嚟個POST，講道好似茶餐廳咁。。。

佢MENU上有好多野都冇，要下個星期先開始有。就算有，SERVE嘅時間都係下午多，如果夜晚去食，係冇乜CHOICE～我地想叫個火鍋架，不過要成＄9.50又唔跟野飲，所以我地兩個都係叫左魚湯SET。幾好，冇MSG，我叫UDON，係D靚UDON（新鮮個D）。炸雞亦都好香，好味。個蘿蔔糕就麻麻。。。好散～最搞笑係，嚟個時，得兩舊糕。冇耐，個女人嚟話比我地聽，唔好意思，廚房唔知係應該三件，好快會多一件補返比你。好好禮貌。我緊熱檸茶，OK啦。愛人叫柚子多多。。。都有柚子味。

Yeah, they don't have too much to pick at this point. However, the waitress showed us the menu that they are going to add which have a lot of baked rice, pasta, curry etc...and she said it will be starting on tuesday.

I tried it twice. I like their noodle in fish soup. Pretty good! I like they have "yu fu" to pick from the list of things to go with the noodle!

I tried their rice on pork rib too. That one is so-so, have to wait for a bit longer as they cook it at the time of order.

The waitress also show me the menu. They say that they will officially open on Tuesday or something like that, and they are still trying to fiddle around with what people want on thier menu and stuff.

(But I do agree that it is on the expensive side for the noodle... though, I think it worth it for the taste of it)

rico's boss is now running a "postpartum centre" in richmond...you can still order their food from their house..but for $3000 a month @_@. they are only catering to women who had babies...

ham and chicken omlette, love thier thick toast, very rare to see in vancouver and their egg was just right~ still very smooth and not fully cooked. If i order again, i will ask them to get rid of the "習" 豆. If only eat toast and egg as breakfast (without the noodle part), i will prefer to go here instead.

I went there Wed. nite around 9:00 with my gf and there were quite a bit of people there. I have a feeling most of them are from Loyaukee. Can you guys show your hands if you went last nite ?

I went there last week and there were tonnes of kids there too...but some of them belong to the owner and her friends...and I don't think they are from LYK.

I used to have my son's picture as my LYK avatar...
but I wasn't there on Wednesday night la. I don't think anyone else used their kid as their pic in LYK? Maybe only one other person...and she had a daughter.

went twice already,, very impressed with the price, quality and the atmosphere.
this will be a regular place for me.

i recommend it to those who haven't try. it won't cost you much anyway if you dun like it.

I went today around 7:30pm for dinner, wonder if any LYK members went around that time lol, anyway I had the fish soup noodles and it tasted very good, no MSG at all. My friends had african chicken rices and they liked it. I will definitely go again next time.

but i have to say.....they hire servers with no experience @ all (they were slow & i saw them having to rewrite the "order sheet" again @ the counter after getting orders from us..)

My friend and I went there once. There were 3 female servers at that time and all 3 of them can speak Cantonese. (1 older and 2 younger)
We had fish soup and laksa soup, each of us picked one inclusive topping and add $1 for the "wind sand chicken wing", also add $1 for a cold drink. Yeah, the fish soup should have no msg at all, yet it's a little too non-salty enough. The laksa was OK. The chicken wings were in reasonably good size and taste. The portion was in reasonably big size, yet the quality was not amazingly good but the price was not on the cheap side. Hmm... may go back again but would not be too often.

i went there today.. yeah.. the fish soup has no msg but actually no taste at all.. but they come with xo sauce, it was good to taste with xo sauce.
the chicken wing was good, it can be compared to "small sweet sweet" at aberdeen

6.95 for a noodle in soup is too expensive, 5.95 or 6.95 with 3 toppings is more reasonable ..

yeah...most of the servers don't know cantonese...

the $1 porkchop added to the noodles is quite good...
and yes, their stuff tastes like silver tower! In fact the pregnant boss looks like she's from there?

and....they made a mistake on my order
i changed my drink to twnese bbtea..was suppose to charge me $2 to switch to bbtea + $0.50 for pearl...they just charged me an extra $2

I think you capture some ppl in our group in your photo (2nd and 3rd)! The right side biggest table... We went there around 7 ish and stay till like 8:40 ish!

I tried their White raddish beef brisket hotpot and Oyster Omelette last night. Oyster Omelette was only, i think it is a bit more too deep fried. The hot pot is good, but my first impression is that the brisket taste like Pho noodle brisket taste...

I actually went there again for lunch today with other friends - - this time I had baked tomato pork chop rice and it tasted alright, nothing special about it.

went today for their breakfast before heading to plenty sale hahahha
me & my bf got there around 9:15ish no one was there
i ordered the satay beef rice noodles by itself` so it came as a big portion. Tastewise; its good but nothing to WOW about and yes i do prefer lido's more ($4.95 drink included)
my bf ordered the fried fish fillet with scrambled eggs` it had 2 big slices of fish fried to perfection, nice and golden brown and eggs still kinda runny (we like it not fully cooked). Tastewise, it was good ! the fish was very crispy and did not taste frozened which is good ! this one is 6.25 with a hot drink.

its actually a nice place to have breakfast coz its so quiet unlike other places. But one thing i do have to mention, their food is starting to taste like silver tower? lol so..im just wondering did they steal the chef from silver tower or what? lol and silver tower is downgrading in taste lately........hmmmmm

I had the fish soup base with tomato and pumkin 米線 as well. Not bad. I think they really don't have MSG.
But the portion of our 4 bowls of 米線 were so diff. Me being the smallest eater got the biggest bowl... one of my friend's is really small ...
Anyway... I think it's actually a HK Style cafe... but I still like the fish soup cos it's MSG free. So may go there for 米線 again.

I went there with kids for tea yesterday. They ordered french toast with ice-cream and pork chop bun tea combos. Unexpectedly, the details of the french toast was really surprised me. They cut the french toast in 6 pcs then deep fried with egg pastry. Therefore, every small piece of french toast is fully wrapped. Very impressive!! The other pork chop bun, the pork chop inside is thick and juicy, the size even bigger than the bun. My god, must go back to try the 魚湯米線 that LYK suggested. Thanks LYK to discover the place.

Btw, can somebody tell me the difference between "fish meat tofu" and "fish tofu" ?? ( I do not like the square kinds). Also, do they have a different menu for dinner ?

Fish meat tofu is the square kind that you dont like. "yu fu" (fish tofu) is the deepfried ball thing (flatten). hahhaa, hope it helps.

I tried this one mini set too and a japanese green tea slush..
The food is ok. The mango coconut sauce is quite interesting.
The portion of mini set is good enough for a girl, not enough for a guy.

The japanese green tea slush is very bad, too much vanilla icecream over the green tea.
It tastes like vanilla slush more than green tea slush.

probably would order food here, but not the drink.

same as Shan Shan's 1 of the order.

went there yesterday... their service isn't that great, as mentioned by a lot of LYK their servers are obviously in experienced... i asked if i can change fish to chicken and she gave me a shocked look then went into the kitchen and ask lol... and hot lemon tea no one gave me sugar, my bf asked one lady which we think is the manager and she was busy so she told one of the girls (servers) to give us sugar and the girl was a bit lost.. the mgr repeated like 4 times before the girl understood lol. and when they took my order she had to look at the menu and copy it down... which is kinda funny. but we can tell that they tried very hard to serve people, which is nice.

the food is pretty good.. i'm very picky on "cha chan teng" food so a lot of places i go to i usually cannot finish the food because they don't taste too good for me. but yesterday i finished a whole baked rice plus half a plate of chicken wings (which was delicious)! and my bf liked the 魚湯米線, said the fish soup was great.

I went there to try after reading the forum and I do agree that service is not great as the waitress are not very smart and slow.  I asked for Black Pepper and she didn't understand in English, then I said it in Cantonese and she still didn't understand.  Then t I found out that she actually speaks Cantonese.

Food wise it's acceptable.  Portion is definitely not big but quality is quite ok.  I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Fettucinni mini set and there were 5 small/medium shrimp in it... ok la.

Ordered the hot almond drink, they used milk to mix the powder rather than just hot water.  but the milk was not hot enough so it was like warm milk

just went to this place for lunch..so CROWDED!! and the noodle soup is BIG!! my tummy now looks like a watermelon! lol~ I order the fish based soup with beef & add $1 for 3 chicken wings.. i love the fish soup base..and the noodles too... just the beef has not much taste.. chicken wings are ok~~

the services are slow..but it's ok.. expected.. hahaa i am sure i will go there again!

First time I went, I was overwhelmed by the large quantity for the price charged. Second time I went, I was underwhelmed by the soup base (it was the pumpkin one). The noodles start to taste the same as last time. The only thing that's consistent is the poor service. It takes forever to get attention from the girl waitresses. Some will intentionally look away when you try to wave to get their attention. Based on my experience, I feel a bit reluctant to go back...I might go if I'm very hungry...probably not too often though.

this place is too noisy, don't go if you want to chat with friends. but the food is ok if you just want a quick meal
