Good .. I would love to move back to HK too ..  pretty much .. everything is BETTER for me ..

However, with little baby now ..  Canada seems a better place .. ( at least, to cover a bit on my tax money .. )

OK ..  let's face it ..

Isn't it the main REASON why most of us are here? our parents gave up their nice life, good income job in HK, and landed to Canada .. since they wanted us to have education/better life here .. ( All parents are AWESOME! )

So ..  when most of us are in their boat now ... and want to have LIFE back to HK ..  however, our "NEXT GENERATION" is here already .. and we are parents (most people over 30 are parents anyway) so .. we are not more or less understand why our parents moved to Canada!!!

Ha ha .. he is funny ..

There are many people .. can't find a job in Canada .. moving to HK ..
And in the mean time ... few of my friends, just MOVE BACK to Canada ..

I guess ..  we have to learn about the REALITY ..

I love HK, I like hanging out and playing/having fun in HK ..  and enjoy the good chinese food at low price ..  so .. I just go HK for vacation once or twice a year, (I dont live in Van, so I cannot go HK 3 or 4 times a yr) and my family, and friends, usually come to visit me every year too, (summer) so I can still enjoy my life in Canada, and keep in touch with Hong Kong.

Still, Vancouver life is much better then Alberta, I would love to move to Vancouver, which is a beautiful city, great life style, however, my wife and her family are all living in Calgary.......

so ...

Toppy, I am still warning you, there is NO better place to live .. but there is BETTER LIFE ...

with less money, i can afford a house with front and back yards &  i can afford to drive a car rather than taking mtr. after work, i can go skiing in winter & cycling in summer of just lying on the beach to watch sunset.  when i shop at the supermarket, i can check the ingredients before i purchase them, no worry of the milk or other daily products.  not so concern about swine flu, because i can easily keep 6ft distance with others and i don't need to pack in the elevator every day.

Sigh .. give up la..

How hard to move back to HK if we want to?

All of us, can do it .. but for example .. like me .. with wife .. son .. car .. house .. etc .. and in the 30's no reason or "mood" to move back la..

( by the way, where is Billionaire Mr H??  lol )

When I was 2X .. and single .. I did think about it ..  but now ?  no la.. lazy ..  even my parents as me to move back ..  ( then they can see the baby )

Bottomline is ... if you want to move to HK . or even US .. just move .. not hard, and nothing special ..

Food in HK is good .. but then ..  if you compare to Japan and Taiwan etc ..  no comparision as well ...

We got good steak and cheap lobster here ..  but ****ty ****ty overpriced chinese food .. but then .. in HK .. fine dining for lobster and Steak ..  is also rip off ...

So .. why not take the advantage as Canadian honger?  when shopping .. ( ie camera )  we can compare the price in Canada/US/HK/Japan etc .. then buy ..  even say battery .. 1  CR 123 is $6 here .. but you can order from HK .. $3 with 5 of them and FREE shipping ..  big deal ?

Also, we can bring many cheap items back to HK as well .... ( I always bring vitamin ..  chocolate etc to HK ...  which easy ...  5 times cheaper here ... )

Thx for internet shopping ...  I dont hv to pay $15 for a $5 comic from China town .. but pay $7 to order, with air mail ...

Yeah .. Gas price is a rip off here .. but still 1/3 compare to HK ..  when I drive in HK ..  easy .. $500 $ 500 $ 500 ..

Pros and Cons ..

It could be HALF empty glass of water .. or HALF full glass of water ...

(Dont get me wrong, still many things ..  SUCK here ..  such as RCMP .. ER .. Legal system .. Tax ... )

Oh well .. I hope mr. T will "recover" when he goes back to HK la.. as I have known so so many SIMILAR  people .. after they moved to HK ..  they know what is REALITY la...

NO MERCY IN HONG KONG !!!

why did i choose canada over asia?
i'm not from HK..
but i wouldn't really wanna move back to tw either~
if i do~ will only be a short period of time~ to experience what it's like to work there and live there

why do i choose vancouver over asia
1. air
2. environment
3. not over populated

sure we our food is "not as good" as asia but i think that's purely subjective~
i've heard HK ppl telling me that the Yum Cha here is better than in HK

sure jobs are harder to find here~ but is it really?
i'd rather keep the job i have now than go back and just teach english~
(sure i can find something other than that~ but that's just the easiest)

sure things are expensive here
but at the same time~ wages are also higher compare to asia~
the wage to being able to support urself ratio is not that much off if you compare the 2 locations.. plus~ i consider being steps away to parks and nature very important to my lifestyle .. that is something that's more of a luxury in tw/hk

so.. stop trashing canada~
if you wanna go back~ go back~
we don't care~ it'll be ur choice

The gas price is like 103.4 in Vancouver today. Why would anyone want to STAY and get scammed every day?

move to Egypt or Qatar... or Saudi Arabia to the extreme... you will enjoy the cheap gas for sure...

and have fun getting scammed by parkades in HK...

Another thing is 中國移民湧到溫哥華!!!

It is like living in Beijing here.

well depends on where u are... it's hard to find a rude chinese in downtown... another story if you always stay in richmond or sth...

and it's like living in SZ or GZ in HK... enjoy!

well to be fair, HK (for me personally) is good for a 2-3 week vacation

In Canada I can have a nice big home, a cottage, couple cars, have a small boat, while working 9 to 5, 5 weeks of vacations, no need to work like a slave.

Tax is high, but I can afford it. When my family is in need, government support is so easy to find.

I can enjoy outdoor life, no need to worry about air pollution.

I get respect when I travel around the world with my Canadian passport.

I am proud to be a Canadian.

Toppy, you are not as good as what you used to be wor.  I told you 10 reasons, and you can only flight back for three.
owning a car is necessary in hk but just not affordable for most people.  if you have a child and you need to take him around, you would know how important is the car la.  eventhough you go to shopping, you will happy to keep you stuffs in your car rather than taking it around.  probably you haven't read the news for a long time, one of the reason of high gas price in hk is the gas companies need to pay high leasing fee for the gas station.  also, the monopoly is another reason la.
sorry, i don't like hawaii, no skiing ma.  vancouver is one of the place which you can tell its four seasons.
you don't pay property tax in hk???  same thing la.
