Use canola oil for supporting Canadian  product,
I have switched to grapeseed oil for 15 years now,
it is better taste, more versatile and relatively inexpensive, say
5 litres for under $30, I mix it with EVOO for most of the cooking,
EVOO for dressing and dipping

I use olive oil for cooking because it seems all scientific research recommends it.

You cannot use high quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil for high temp cooking,
i.e. deepfrying and stir-frying, that is the reason I mix it with grapeseed oil,
which is an excellent  natural anti-oxidant ingredient.
As I stated earlier, I use estate olive oil for bread dipping and  salad
dressing, roasting etc.

I know, that is why I buy ordinary Olive oil for cooking only and I never deep fry anything. There is enough deep fried food when you eat out already.

You should use flax seed oil which is even better than olive oil.

Flax seed oil is for supplement 5-15 ml daily.
I would not cook with it because it is thick and does not withstand heat,
it taste weird and slimy.
I would use  ground flax meal in baking , cooking & Bubbletea;   Blueberry, Tofu and Flax seed smoothie is a good vegan energy drink packed with anti-oxidant, Omega 3, calcium, protein, iron and minerals.

Not all the Canola oil are created equal, for foodservice, there are low-end
Canola oil , 16 Litres for $35 and good Hi-Lo Canola oil would soars to $60
per pail.
Personally I much prefer the grapeseed oil for the flavour and versatile from
stir-frying, deepfrying and salad dressing,  it's natural anti-oxidation property
is a bonus, and the price is quite similar to Canola oil  S28 for 5 Litres bottle.

To me, any edible oil should be fine.

I cook Italian food and others with olive oil; regular cooking with canola.

I don't like flex-seed oil at all, but sometimes I can go with grapeseed blend oil.

Yes, high end Canola oil is supposedly fairly good.

Q.

propagandist take notice: no matter how healthy you eat, you'll die sooner or later anyways, besides: what makes you think that it's ONLY  the oil that's giving you trouble? what about hormone/antibiotics in your drinking water or animal feed(ended up in your fish or meat), pesticides in vegetables and fruits, etc.

Are you a Food Scientist or MD?
I'm a simple guy, I want  some good reliable ingredients at affordable price.
Food fads and trends come and go, I tend to lean toward the time honour
cooking theories. Good foods begin with good ingredients, one cannot  and
should not manipulate food too much.

just wonder how do i know the canola oil that i have is good or bad, i just brought it from costco.  will that be some hints on the label?
also is the omega 3 from the flexseed oil & fish the same?

There are some reliable brands i.e  Omega, Spectrum, Crisco etc. Generic or no name items you are betting with luck because they would change suppliers in no time.
You can get Omega 3 from both salmon and flax seeds, or Omega 3 eggs in which the hens are fed on a flex seed diet, however, the Omega from salmon is earlier to be absorbed and utilized by human system.

No, I'm not a food scientist but I'm living within family members of doctors, nurse, and a nutritionist.

I have more legit/proper understanding of the food and toxins and such from good, reliable sources so that's why I outright challenge any wrong sources and such.

Again, just a gentle reminder: we all possess toxins and pollutants in our body just because not only are we born with those toxins within from our moms (heavy metals, bio-toxins such as pesticides, other genetic factors, etc.) and as we grow up within this world, we are constantly exposed to all sorts of pollutants, toxins, hormones, hormone-altering stuff, etc. and sooner or later, we may become ill because of that.

Being self-aware and try to minimise it is a good approach. That being said, however, one cannot simply call 1 single source as the sole contributor for a particular cancer or ailment (this is considered either "arrogant" or "ignorant").

Sooner or later, we all die of something. Just try your best to live healthy, exercise and also a well-balanced diet and anything that comes along the way, it's fate.

If I have the option, I don't want to expose to the option that breed cancer cell. If you have your love one, or relatives pull these the cancer disease, you will then rethink what you stated ... look at the Farrah's story ... see what turn a glorious blonde to a bald head !
作者: Quest    時間: 2009-5-28 19:16

How can you tell you aren't exposed to other situations/conditions/elements that will induce/lead to cancer? Can you????!?

If not, I wouldn't bother being so narrow-minded if I were you. Afterall: I don't give a dime about farrah's situation for most actors/actresses exposed to all kinds of chemicals during their movie shot life that one cannot simply conclude that it's due to "so-n-so" or "such-n-such". Afterall: Steve McQueen didn't die of cancer but asbestos lung due to all the stunt actions/scenes he took during the 50s and 60s.

And yes, I have family members who died of cancer
