The Chinese did the right thing. All these foreign reporters are just trying to interfere with Chinese affairs, even when the western financial system is crumbling, and still fighting the war in Iraq. But they never learn, that is why the western financial system will continue to slump.
Just look at those western reporters. they look so cocky and annoying.

Gotta thank Peter and Salad_Bread for my daily laughs~ You guys crack me up!

You guys have absolutely no idea of what freedom of the press means. Cops wouldn't dare to touch a reporter nor his equipment when proper credentials have been presented. VPD inappropriately handled a similar case earlier and Chief Chu had to immediately issue a press conference to apologize to the newspaper in order to avoid getting scorned.

Do I have to look up the clips show the US police pushed the reportor and his camera to ground when they cleared out a protect?

When you make a statement, we asked whether you can support your statements by providing evidences. However, you failed to show the evidences to support your statements.

So who is better fit for the job?

Democracy and freedom of speech does not guarantee the complete elimination of free speech interference nor the intervention of free press. Instead, it only minimizes it. Instead, their inherent power lies in the fact that the democratic system offers a recourse (through the courts) to right the wrong that has been committed. Interfere with the press and you face the full wrath and scorn of the entire industry and the citizens. If you do nothing to rectify the problem, the matters will be settled at the courts.

Is there such recourse in Mainland China? The CCP and the courts are so tightly intertwined that they are one and the same. Suppress free speech in PRC, and there is no recourse for the media and its people.

(Thankfully, the tides are slowly starting to shift, and the CCP understands the irreversibility of the tides as well, which is precisely why they try this hard to silence it.)

So far you have not even demonstrated in front of the Japanese consulate.

Peter,

Please respect 64. If you insist to talk about demanding appology from Japanese, please open a new post.

BTW, FYI, just last week. An old man around 50-60? Went to RBC, asked a Chinese teller where does she come from. She answered him " I'm from China".  This old Japanese gentlemen bow to her and said the following "We, Japanese owe you Chinese an apology. I'm sorry for what we have done to your country. " And he kept apologize to this teller.

It's not all Japanese are as evil as how you think.  And not all Japanese don't admit what they did. Please don't be bias just because you love your country.

And dun BS me that how can I prove it's true.
Because it happened to my family member and the teller went up to her for help.
Because that teller doesn't know what to say and how to react.

And just in case you said the teller is not educated, that teller hold a PhD from China.

There is no one denying that Japanese are kind people, but the thing is most Japanese people do not learn about the Nanjing massacre in their schools.
In the western media, they do not even talk about the Nanjing massacre. Just ask any westerner, what do they know about Nanjing massacre, Japanese poison gas experiments in North Eastern China, comfort ladies etc.

People like Lik are self-hating kids who dare not demand an apology from the Japanese invaders.

No, Not all the Japanese are evil, I deal with a lot  of 2nd. and 3rd. Generation Japanese Canadian, they just hate the Japanese government and what the Imperialism Japanese done in WW2, which cost them dearly, all their  properties confisicated and sent to central camp. The Japanese community in Vancouver was nearly wiped out and never recover until to date. I really feel sorry for them.

Or may be, the teller she even don't know what exactly happened during the invasion of Japanese in NamKing. It is all because PRC governmnet don't want the next generation know the history. What they learn from the history of China is how a marvalous job that PRC has done to today's China only.
