a lot of condo/apartments have rules/by-laws that you have to follow. You should check with them to see how thick and what standard the 隔聲墊 needed to be installed.

I think laminate is better, its cheaper, I mean way cheaper, and easier to maintain. even if you accidentally make it wet sometimes, it not gonna get mold easily. Also, with laminate, you wont have to worry that your furniture will scratch it. because my bro has the real wood, and he already stick some sort of furniture stickers at all the furniture legs, so its ok. But sometimes when he drops his keys on the floor or something heavy, it will have scratches, and now that he has kids, its even worst, cuz they keep dropping stuff on the floor, and their baby toy cars etc is not helping it too.
I did install the 隔聲墊 on the 3rd floor only, because the man said mine is townhouse, so its way quiet if i install it in the 3rd floor, then when u walk on the 3rd floor, the 2nd floor cannot hear much. and he said not necessary to put it in my 2nd floor, just because the 1st floor of my house is garage only. not one is there, except car haha. so can save a little $ in that case.作者: chrichri 時間: 2009-6-15 19:54
i think it depends what type of property u r living in cuz there are a lot of restrictions if you want to install hardwood or laminate floor. for my condo, our property manager is really strict. I am required to install certain types of underlay to avoid noises.
i just hired a contractor to install laminate floor. It looks good and feel cooler at home.
hardwood floor would look nicer, elegant and natural, but is more expensive
(more than triple price of laminate floor) and easily scratched.
for installation, laminate floor is easier to install if you are thinking to do urself.
for hardwood, you would have to consider if you have kids or dogs cuz scratches are so obvious. However, there are lots of hardwood floor that you can choose from. it might add value to your property.
