Selling my barely used 13.3 inch-80GB White MACBOOK which was bought in 2007.This macbook was in good conditions except a few scratches on the surface but nothing serious. Also it comes with the APPLE WIRELESS mouse, key board protecter, APPLE AIRPORT EXPRESS BASE STATION, and a macbook case. This is a great deal for $699 (total worth over 1400CAD)which you may not find it anywhere Everything comes with the origional box and have proof of purchase if needed. Local pick-up and cash only.

Really tempting, and it look so nice, but would it compatible with my
4 laptops? and I'll have to learn all the apple softwares, sigh

what do u mean by compatible with your laptops? u can install windows and most of the microsoft's softwares onto the mac as well, but if u were asking about the Apple base station I'm not sure if windows laptop can be connected or not. thanks for looking btw =)

699 真係好平. 你去EBAY 賣啦. 我跟左 Mac Book 成兩三個月, 你部機最少可以賣到800USD 或以上. 你又去craigslist check 下啦. 最慘就係得1GB RAM.

His unit is the Macbook Mid-2007 with T7200 processor, 80GB HDD, GMA950 GPU which is exactly what I am having. Max memory is 4GB (2x2GB). RAM is relatively cheap these days.

Other than the heat, this Macbook is very speedy. With the mouse and Airport Express, it's not bad for $699. Is there AppleCare left?

The newer 2008 models with Penryn/X3100 and Penryn/GF9400 are better units tho...

Not everyone like Mac though.
I'm ok with both window/mac but I have to admit that I prefer PC more than Mac when it comes to entertainment.

That's why I installed VM ware on my mac... so I can use both!

When you buy an Apple, you pay the extra for: the name, and the design.

Even spec is similar, technology wise, Apple is WAY ahead of other PC even they are built by Foxconn, Asus, Quanta, Winstron (the same one who build low/mid end Sony and HP).

Put it in another way, you can say that an STi maybe more powerful than a 911, but it's not the same.

Only Sony can design and build something so close to Apple, but it's not quite there. The Unibody and the Macbook Air itself is a huge technology breakthrough.

some pc makers are way ahead of apple in a lot of ways

IBM.. you must be referring to the ThinkPad, not the IdeaPad or the G series right? The Thinkpads are great business machines, but they are never associated with "sexy" or "attractive", they focus too much on business and stability and they are always behind in terms of specs.

To answer your question, first Macbook (Macbook 13-Inch) with Intel Core Duo T2300/2500 is in 2006. In Late 2006/Early 2007, Apple introduced the Core 2 Duo T5600/5800 CPU. In Mid-2007, Apple has the T7200/7400 Core 2 Duo. In Early 2008, they started using T8300 with X3100 graphics. Late 2008 is the first introuduction of the Unibody with nVidia chipset.

To say ahead, take Mini-Display port, derived from the Mini-VGA and Mini-DVI used to be Apple exclusive, now it is on its way to replace standard VGA/DVI port. hmm... USB and Firewire was used in first CRT iMac in 1996. The only thing I think PC has and Apple does not is eSATA and Blue-Ray, which Apple exclusively does not support at the OS root level.

Again, I bought my Mac is not because I really love a Mac, I just simply love how things are built on the hardware level. My next laptop will be an Unibody Mac for sure, because I have yet to see anything that has similar spec with 7+ hours of battery life.

With less than 10% of market share, the reason behind Apple success is innovation. During the design process, if the product does not meet Steve's standard, it does not go out to manufacturing. Unlike many PC makers now rely on Taiwanese ODM companies to do the design, and what you get from PCs are just something the different vendors put together with a label.

To be honest, I get to deal with computers and stuff. Apple is the only company that gives me the excitement when something new is announced. When I see a new HP and Toshiba, I just like... all right... just another PC. PC is dull and boring, but they are easy to do. Mac is exciting yet expensive, I remember I broke a cable in an iMac and I need to have the whole front bezel replaced... neat eh? That's exciting when you need to know what you are doing, and it's different on all models.
