cool, are u planning to colour it?

are those zippy 2200mah 20C battery... how long does it last you?
hey tell me how's it without flap.
I will make a flap from half of your aileron if i were you. aileron seems too big for control, don't you think?
I can't comment on the lipo until the first flight, I'll post the result later
FYI flaps are mixed in the aileron, they are called flapperons. With a flip of a switch on the Tx both flapperons go down about 50% and they work as flaps and ailerons at the same time.
YEAH!

I am just being devil's advocate.
I know flaperon but i mean the aileron function of the flaperon is too big. it's hard to keep it from rolling too much.

Do you need a licence to fly RC plane in BC? If yes, how much?
For smaller (500g all-up-weight "AUW" or less) electric-powered models usually you don't need one. Just make sure the park you're flying at does not explicitly ban RC model flying. I usually pick a vacant soccer field to fly and I don't fly my planes anywhere close to people and their pets.
You may join flying clubs if you are to fly very large models. The annual fee includes insurance coverage for flying at the club. There is one in Burnaby and the annual fee is $100 something.
Thanks for the info. I am cheap and $100 is more than the price of the plane(sky hawk glider or equivalent) I want to buy. I live in Burnaby, but I do not know there is a field I can fly a plane.
Even my fly buddies who lives in bby/vancouver come to here to fly, this is probably the best in town. Come join us
Concerning the plane u wanna buy, it's probably better to get proper "hobby-grade" gears than a starter kit like the sky hawk glider. The reason is price/performace ratio and affordability.
You may think a starter kit is cheaper, it is in fact very expensive even for short run. Take sky hawk glider as an example:
- The motor is a cheap brushed motor - lack of power when you need it and does not last.
- The ESC (speed controller) is undoubtedly for brushed motor - need to be replaced when you outgrow your brushed one (very soon)
- The battery is either NiCD or NiMH, which is heavy and wimpy comparing to lipo (lithium polymer)
- The FM Transmitter ("remote" in outsider's terminology) does not allow you to hook it up with the computer for simulation. Very few newbie RC pilot can start flying properly without training in the computer sim first
So you are paying $60 US + shipping for something that will probably last 10 seconds before ending up in a pile of debris.
With similar amount of money, you could get some basic, yet proper hobby grade gears such as:
- brushless motor and a brushless ESC combo
- 2.4Ghz Transmitter/Receiver set
- hobby-grade heavy duty servos
- lipo and charger
Concerning the airframe, it can be ridiculously cheap to DIY one (I can show you how, even build for you if necessary) using readily available material from local stores.
Foam: Homedepot, 1 sheet $7 for 10+ planes
Glue: Homedepot Weldbond, $5 for a large bottle
Pushrods: Piano wire, $0.9 a pop you prolly need 2
Wood motor mount: Daiso craft wood: $2 u can make a bunch
For starter you may want to fly something easy and slow, like the following:

I am just wondering do you have any feed back controller on board of the plane? beause the second flight shows much better motion transition. (btw i am a complete newbie but I am interested in your work)作者: saotome 時間: 2009-10-27 21:57
