I THINK this dog purposely hid himself between the crack, due to the reason dogs have this special instinct that they KNOW they will die soon, so they hide themselves somewhere so they can pass away peacefully and without hurting anyone that loves him/her....

i know this because i have a frd's dog that did this 2 weeks before it passed away due to cancer too...
