Mr Lube hires anyone as their technicians without proper training...knew a guy worked for them and he can't even do his own oil change properly (well u can say that's individual case)...

have had a friend who went to them, they tell her the coolant is sooo low and dirty so might as well change it; turns out her radiator was leaking (that's why it's low) and 3 days after the service at Mr Lube her car overheats and engine was toasted! all these hazzle could have been saved if it was done by a licensed mechanic...

even dealership hires "lube boy" (usually when lot boy's wages get high enough they might as well give them a better use, started off with lube boy then after a year or two they will send them to bcit for training) nowadays, just for those of us who doesn't want to pay for their "service" (those express lube ain't handled by licensed mechanics)....

even a mechanic has good and bad, if you trust those lube boy...

yes lube boy at dealership is way better than those at mr lube, only downside is mechanic can't follow up everything they do and they might have missed few things here and there...

i had friends who has got mis-quoted for "brake pad is needed", didn't aware his car is leaking oil and it was supposed to be under warranty, they just put pressure into tires while they are supposed to have a nail (or it could have picked up on the way out from the shop to the lot, god knows)...

have had a friend who went back to VW for oil change, picked it up during lunch time parked it at work, after work his co-worker saw him leaving the lot with a whole bunch of oil at where he parked, turned out those lube boy screwed it up...

but like i said, even mechanic can screw up, and i have been there (when i was training) and i am still learning new things every now and then....

i always stick with OEM filters, might not be the best for your car but they are designed for it...better than those fram or whatsoever IMO...

suki lube? they over-filled my friend's engine oil by at least a L, another one had a leaky oil filter while the drain plug washer was so crushed (oil is still over-filled, just not as much; dunno if it leaked out or what not); usually, overfill seems to be the issue, and how they tighten up the filter (could be cheap filter's problem too) / drain plug + washers are all other issues....good luck

try to change ur drain plug washer every other time, if not every time; u might not see leak but crushing the drain plug washer too much can possibly damage the threads too...

have seen diff cars coming back after 5000km with regular castrol oil / motul synthetic, seems like using oem oil filter (or had friend using K&N, works great but see if u think that's worth the "EXTRA" money) can keep the oil in good colors better...

they are not that bad (if u get the double guard or sth, orange one with black top); but i think oem one is still what it's meant for your car...
