above are are quote from the lady called Jane Primelee

The global count says 100k to 200k. China says 300k. Well, that's already a proof of exaggeration.

But to me that's not the point. 300 people tortured is already too many.

The discussion above is about "death toll", not atrocities. Nanking was the capital at that time. Of course it had more people. People get killed in war. The toll was significantly higher in other parts of the world.

I thought your focus here is about the atrocities, not about the death toll overall. The latter will of course be high in a densely populated country.

Japan recognizes its atrocities and monkey business. Has apologized for it. From the very helm. Many of those apologies sound very well-meaning to me. If they don't to you, tell me why.

The ball is in China's court to show some maturity and intent for constructive stability in the region, not posturing for humanity on one side, while doing whatever the heck it pleases on another. In international politics, the context is very relevant.

If you think Chinese govt is "trying" to calm down people, then you're falling for the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Control media, control opinion, then do a "peaceful rally"?

Disallow falun gong, disallow anything related to Tiananmen, because "congregation" is illegal.

But allow and in fact encourage a bunch of 20-year olds in Shanghai to congregate to lament Nanjing?

You may fall for this drivel. The world doesn't.

Seriously, do I hate China? I don't. It's their attitude that draw my attention and anger. Yeah, there are many anit-China things going on the world and why can't these people sit down and ask themselves, where does the anger coming from and why people hate them?

Don't just being naive and claim because the world is jealous of their wealth or they can't accept china is growing. These are just BS.

Just like Japan, Japan made very poor quality products in the past and it was even a joke to the world when they mentioned about Japan product. Then, why Japanese product are classified as high quality products then?
Why can't China do the same? People there are just too short sighted and only want to make profit.

What's wrong with lament nanjing, when all the western countries commemorate WWII every year? If China wants to do it, then there would be demonstration outside the Jap embassy every day. For falung ...

Nothing wrong about lament najing but it's wrong when they kept saying they will reject Japan goods whereas the whole China are deep down admire Japan. Look at the young generation that red neck about the Japan invasion while they listen to Japan pop and mock their fashion. What's wrong with that??

If they look so high on themselves and hate Japan with a passion, then produce some high quality goods and replace all the Japan products. If they  look so high on themselves, then stop mocking the Japanese fashion.

p.s. and sadly, this is an perfect example of hypocrisy.

In my book, an apology looks like a meaningful remorse tendered by prime ministers and leaders from the 1970s until *today*. It includes war reparations in the trillions. It includes no blocking of media for people in Japan who want to know both the sides, even the emotional theatre of China on Youtube and all over the web.

If this is not your idea of an "apology", then it's an issue with you, not with Japan. Even if Japan were to do this cosy little dance of "mutually commemorative" event, there will soon be other Dan and Zan who would want something else, according to their version of "apology".

Japan has done enough. Deal with it.

The Chinese (not you) ignorantly attack Japan on principle. That they are people who will commit atrocities, who will support their own war criminals, and whatnot. That they're an evil people. That "Japs suck".

That's where I mention the *hypocricy* of China. A country that will do what it pleases (against global norms) in its neighbors. A country that will block any perspective other than its own to keep its people in the dark ages. A country that will deflect angst from its own devastation of MILLIONS of people under the stupidest "cultural revolution" to the angst for WWII 60 years ago.

The world is not blind to that hypocrisy, and it is in that context that Tibet, Ladakh, Bhutan merit a mention.
