I live in a independant house, that's build in a condo lot.  I would prefer it over a regular condo.

concrete is not necessary better for noise, since it also means higher traffic.  And in many cases, you can upgrade the windows for better sound proof.  I used to live in a townhouse in Richmond #4/Cambie, it's nearly impossible to hear our next door neigbour unless we have our windows open.

Even better if the townhouse include garage & parking space.  You can have you own space for car wash, you have your own storage area if neccessary inside the garage with easy access, and you don't have to walk a long distance to put away your groceries etc...!
