In my experience, 擺酒 can be expensive and cheap both with very good results.  In Chinese weddings, at least you are getting some money back off your friends and relatives..!
I found honeymoon can be one of the most costly part in your wedding.  You can easily spend a few K per person.  Then some couple may enjoy their honeymoon as well with destination such as Victoria..!
Photography can be expensive.., as a wedding photographer.., I have learned that the photography on your wedding day is much more worhty than the nice big album from your pre-wedding.  So, don't over spend $$$$ on the pre-wedding alubm photo, and save up for your wedding day pictures..!  (One of the reason is that the great photos that's done at a wedding studio may look very nice, but they serve little to no memory)  The real wedding pictures on your wedding day has alot more story in it, and it's still like new when you look back to them years from now..!
Video is also a nice thing to have...!  I don't think it's as important, since one would only view the full video occasionally.., and it's more often that you would share photos with your friends or new friends than videos..!
Wedding dress, rent instead of buy can save you some money.
Good makeup can be costly.., and that's very little you can do about it...!
