Hi, I just got back from my 2-day Seattle trip. I stayed in Bellevue and it turned out to be a shopping trip.
Tips 1: Do not go through x-win border checkup because many people like to cut in front of you from the middle lane. The sign board said it was supposed to be 30 minutes and it turned out to be 2.5 hours. It was crazy.
When I made turn to the border lineup and be a good citizen and start to lineup at the left most lane. The middle lane was supposed for nexus user; however, many people just drove through the middle lane and tried to cut into middle lane. It was frustrating. The passenger in the car in front of us even gave people middle finger when people tried to cut in front of her.
Tips 2: When I came back, there was no line up at all. I bought approximately 400 dollars and I did not get charged duty and tax at all.
Do you have to pay duty if you bring home ipad?

Most likely no. she only asked me how much I spent. I told her 400 bucks. She asked me if I brought back any alcohol and I said no. She let me through. If I have bought the ipad, she would not know anyway.
Well..soemtimes... I can't find that item locally...instead of buying online and wait for shipping, i'd rather to go to WA and shop la.

I have the same feeling too. There were actually some items you could only find in the states. I especially like those cute household decoration items.
