Average Intel C2D Mac temp is about 61-70, the fan would starts to kick in when the temp over 65C. The fan speed is running at full, does it run over 5k RPM constantly? It should be running about 2k ...
it's normal if the fan is running at full speed while loading some heavy application like parallel. But what bothering me is that it easily gets hot and runs over 5K RPM while I am watching videos like even on youtube. It would keep running at high speed until I stop watching. I don't expect that loading any video clips will bring so much heat to the macbook. So, I am just wondering if that's normal for macbook or any other laptops or it only happens on my macbook. And it works fine for other things , like even I opened 7-8 different applications I wouldn't notice any noise from the fan.
And you got me right, the only reason I want to upgrade to 4gb ram is parallel(and may be also the sale of the 2gb ram in NCIX). Even though I don't use it that much or that often, I just feel more convenient if I can run some window application on my mac sometimes. |
