I feel the same way as most of you.  Good thing those people from china have a certain distinguishable "look" to them so other chinese people won't mistaken me as part of their group.  And for non-chinese people, I tell them I'm from HK, not china.

The problem is that people from mainland china treat canada as china and can't change their habits.  Their cheapness and attitude are influenced too deeply by the lifestyle in china and they all hang around together even when they come to canada which makes them unchangeable.

^ Newcomers all go to chinese populated places like richmond so they don't have to change.  They already pretend they are back in china.

It's not easy for our mentality to be 100% completely devoted to western culture.  When we gather with chinese people, we might talk about what TVB series are showing and where to sing K and stuff.  White people would be talking about which hockey/football teams are playing each other and what kind of community events there are.
