I can hardly believe this news is true. Does anyone have the same news from other source or google itself?

It is becasue I don't believe Google will give up its business in China for the sake of 中國維權人士. It is a public company and the benefits of its shareholders is the first priority but not the 中國維權人士.

Thanks for sharing. I cannot understand why Google wants to make this issue public before it makes a decision and it is still going to talk (negotiate) with the Chinese government. Is its purpose to put pressure on the Chinese government publicly so that it can have more power in the negotiation?

I don't think this tactic will work and it could instead put Google in a more difficult situation in my opinion. I don't think the Chinese government will back down on this especially after making this issue public.

Yeah, I forgot about this.  I would like to see whether they had considered this.

Anyhow, I just couldn't understand why it would make it public without any particular purpose. To me, it seems to be a foolish move unless it has a very smart move after this.

I am even wondering whether the Google blog had been hecked and the article is posted by a hecker.

Google had put itself in a losing position right from the beginning and that is why I couldn't understand why it would do that.

No wonder it had been strugling in China. It will continue to strugle in my opinion. It has not found a way to do business in China.
