I have not used TLC for a long time due to their poor service. I really don't understand why everyone would go there when TSB, McFrugle, P2P and Shell are quite accommodating.

Having Nexus really makes the trip back and forth a lot faster. Most purchases under $100 are let go anyways.

If you do not plan to declare the new tires, you better hope the weather is bad or you take a drive down to Seattle and back. It is very frequent the custom officers to flash lights on tires and feel the treads. They did it on my car twice and my friend's car as well. They can also tell by the manufacturing date on the tires as they are required to manufacturer the dates on the sidewall to indicate their lives.

Just watch out la.

I always declare everything even alcohol on the same day. No reason to take a chance.

I checked with Point Roberts, Blaine and Pacific Crossing, all of the Canadian custom said I can do verbal declaration. I think it's a good idea because if you fill the TDC, you get taxed for everything.

I rather make a second trip to US as well if I know I am over by a bit. It's is better to buy $200/pp each time than $300/pp.

Still, with the amount of traffic back/to US, I don't think the CBSA has that much man power to tax even 20% of them.

I used it once and it was charged in like 3 weeks. The line shows up as CBSA in Ontario.

I guess now they don't even mail them in?? LOL
